Anyone know how to make the alarm play music?

On my i760, I used a program called G-Alarm (G-Alarm: an alarm clock for Windows Mobile) because it was able to turn the volume on even when the phone was in silent mode and play music. Without this feature, I had to go to sleep with the sound on and found myself waking up to the various beeps the phone makes when receiving email for example.

The alarm on the TP2 has the ability to turn on from silent mode, but only has a selection of annoying ringing sounds. There must be a way to make an mp3 player into an alarm sound.

Suggestions anyone?

Thanks,

David

on my touch i took oold alarm sounds from my old phone and copied them into the folder where the alarm files were stored. you could try copying a song to the folder and then see if you can select it as the alarm sound. i have not tried this myself but after reading your question it might work using a somng instead of just an alarm. give it a shot, it can't hurt.

I actually see MP3's when I choose an alarm sound. I am running a custom rom but I am 75% sure they were there before the new ROM.

Try copying some mp3 files to your \windows\rings folder or your My Documents or the root of your storage card. It seems like I am seeing MP3s from those 3 locations. ...

FYI it does not see WMA files.

I tried copying MP3 files over to my ring folder, and no joy. Is there a size limit (mine was 5MB)? I also noticed that there are some wma files in the folder as well.

Any other suggestions? I am not having any luck.

Thanks,

David

hmmm. could be that i just never noticed. Before I flashed a custom Rom I never used the internal alarm program. I was using with PA Alarm or SPB Time and both support MP3. But now I am running windows mobile 6.5 so it could be that you need that to support mp3? Someone else would have to say .-T

I am thinking about upgrading to WM 6.5. I know this is a bit off topic, but could you please point me in the right direction.

My question is a bit off topic for this thread, and two others have relevant information, so I'd suggest carrying the discussion on in one of them.
