Programs Tab

I have seen posts making comments about the "programs tab" within the TF3D and was curious if the Verizon models even had this "tab" as part of the slider (home, contacts, messaging, email, settings, etc.). My original TP2 didn't have this option but was wondering if it was removed by chance from one of the .cab files I may have installed.

I wanted to wait until I received my replacement TP2 from Verizon before asking this so I could look at a default configured phone. I just received it and it does not have "programs" as an option within the slider tabs.

Is there a .cab file I could install or registry hack I could do that would add a Programs tab to the slider? It would be so much easier than always having to go to the Start button, choose the application or selecting All Applications. I have done research on different forums but all I seem to find is how to unlock the first 5 listed application boxes so you can change their shortcut.

Just being curious.

Thanks much,
Brian

I ave not heard of a cab file to change this yet. Once custom roms come out, we will see a lot of activity on this. However, your post implied that you aren't using the Start menu custom menu buttons, which are the same as the Program tab in the Touchflo on the TP1. Have you tried the Start menu?

Rob.

This bugged me at first too, but then I thought about it - the current setup puts all programs together, and all settings together. It used to be that you had start menu programs and windows setttings in the start menu, and shortcuts and TF settings in tf3d.

With the new setup, all programs can be accessed via the start menu and all settings are accessed thru the settings tab in tflo. After making myself get used to it, I think this way makes more sense. It also gives easier access to programs while you have a program open as you do not have to exit back to home to get to the programs tab. I actually prefer this way now.

I think this is HTC improving on the consistency of the phone.

Thanks for the input and apologize if the first post was confusing. Basically I had a new HTC TouchPro 2 that turned out to have an issue with the keyboard. While I was still using the phone I had tweaked it a bit and was wondering during those tweaks I had unintentionally removed the Program Slider Tab. That's why I waited until I received the replacement phone from Verizon so I could double check on a default configured phone.

Currently I do access the Programs / All programs through the Start button at the top of the screen which brings up the standard "start" window where you can add your favorite programs.

I guess where my question came from in regards to having a Programs Tab in the slider bar, apart from different posts I've come across, is from the HDwall program. In the Slider Editor Section there is programs selection at the bottom of the list which seems to tell me that it could be an option to have unless this is for non-Verizon phones

mknollman...just as you, I have become used to using the Start button to access the Programs and the Settings tab to access the actual settings. It was more from a curiosity standpoint if it could even be done.

Thanks again.....

I would guess it could as that is how the original touch pro was set up - with a programs tab and then a start menu drop down that is closer to the oem style - no reason it cant be done on the TP2, and I would guess it already has been - try xda.
