Angry Black Screen of Death (BSOD) !!

I got my Touch Pro2 for about one week and have experienced about once every two days (some time twice in a day) when the device just goes into dark screen. It seems to response to the hardware phone buttons since I could here sounds from it but the screen is dead. I couldn't revive it either by pressing the power button, or the reset button. The only thing to bring it back to life is to remove the battery, then pressing the pwer button, then it would restart like after soft resetting. I had installed a few WM applications but not sure which apps might be causing this. Does anyone have had this happened ?

hard to diagnose since you stated you installed other apps. hard reset (use clear storage method.. easier) then test to see if the phone works fine BEFORE YOU INSTALL ANY APPS... if it behaves fine when in the factory state then one by one reinstall your apps until you find the culprit. you may also post what you installed here to see if others have experiences with the apps your using....

I'm going to wait for WM 6.5 update to do a hard reset. At the mean time, I'll keep track of which app that I had running before a BSOD occuring to see if I could find the offending app this way.

Just reset it man, 6.5 could be months in waiting. Do you really want to deal with this for months? Also, what if it IS a hardware problem? I would troubleshoot now. If you want a safety net - use a program like SPB Backup, then if the hard reset doesn't help, you just restore to what it was before the reset.

I have the same thing happen to me every 3-4 days.
I press one of the hard keys and the buttons light up and the screen flashes that "Back light is off" arrow pointing to the top button. But when I press the top button nothing happens.

Off hand I'm using.

Goodthings VZW cleanup .cab
Manila Today Detacher
Midomi
Google maps
Latest Opera Beta
.net Framework 3.5

I think it is the Cleanup .cab cuase it's got alot of registry tweaks.

I hard reset by clear storage and the problem went away. So it was due to some incompatible application.
