The camera resolution/auto focus works well for it.
I had one installed. It worked. I just never used it so uninstalled it. I'll try to find the name for you.
Barcorama, reads and decodes the barcode. It then does a simple Google search for the bar code. It read the barcode fairly reliably. But the results of a Google search is underwhelming. It is as easy to just bring up Google and type the number.
The other is BarcodeZilla. It is supposed to access an online database to compare prices. Unlike Barcorama, I had zero luck getting it to decode the barcodes. And it had the nice feature of taking a LONG time to try to decode them, just to fail. It looks like good software, but fails.
tag and inigma only read those funky 2d bars, not a true store bar code, I too would like to find an app to do this. Lets keep those suggestions coming.
After digging this up, I played with BarcodeZilla a bit more. I found the settings that let it decode barcodes much more reliably. It works, but like Barcorama, it is mostly a gimmick. You can go online and type in the human readable UPC code into Google and get about the same value quicker.
