WM 6.5 for TP2 RELEASED in the UK

ROM Upgrade (WM6.5) for HTC Touch Pro2 (WWE)

No word on if you can use it on stock US CDMA's yet, but feedback is slowly tricking in.

Supposedly on XDA they said it has TF3d 2.1, not 2.5, which is dissapointing.. but i have only seen 1 post on it.

I just installed it.. it looks newer then what is on our Verizon TP2s. It has the little color icons along the bottom and the weather is on the main screen right under the calendar and the clock flips down... Same as the Imagio I think???

also in the Today section it is called HTC Sense..

Does it have the FM tuner application? Did you loose your carrier's application. E.g., for Sprint, the Sprint TV (I know you're different carrier, just an example)

No, it was an unbranded Euro one so there wasn't any carrier specific stuff to begin with. But it was a total flash of the ROM so yeah, I would have lost anythign carrier specific.

Sorry to but into this forum but I just wanted to say an Imagio owner who was looking at the TP 2 first, it is best to wait and get the phone with WM 6.5 when you get it if in the states or other locations outside the UK.

Do you really want to install apps and tweak your phone only to have to upgrade it to 6.5 a month later and then lose all the programs, tweaks, and whatnot. Also keep in mind your programs that run on 6.1 might not work on 6.5. The Marketplace in 6.5 (while not nearly as large as IPhone) has some very good apps at a low cost. If the prices continue, you will not see any more of these $50 apps for WM phones which I think is a rip personally.

I know what you are saying and yes I will do the upgrades. However, an OS upgrade is really not that big of deal. Heck, you can put cooked roms on already which would be a lot more fun.

I am sure I will have clients asking me to upgrade their phones to WM 6.5 so I will get pleny of work done with it.

Please keep in mind I am averaging about 2.5 hours sleep a night with work being really busy because I have managed to spend about 30 hours going through every setting and registry setting on this phone

I still like to have my phone setup correctly then have a SPB image and then go to town with trying every possible hack, tweak, etc. I just like to have that stable image and not have to my phone out to upgrade and start over. It is not like I havent configured plenty of WM 6.x phones as well as upgrade fomr 5 to 6, etc!

well it seems to you setting up phones is more "work" than an enjoyable experience. being a Win mo user, i enjoy tweaking the phone and setting it up the way i like it ... without having to jail break or get in to the root of the device (android OS). here and at ppc geeks, there are many users who like to rip the phones memory and put in it what they want.. thats one of the beauties of win mo in my personal opinion.

mguzzy is spot on!

I am not arguing it. Why did the guy climb the mountain? Because it was there.

I guess i just dont have enough time right now but keep in mind I doint expect a lot of clients to have this particular phone. I do have it tweaked well but I need to find the memory leak. I am doing that for me.

The main reason it was intiially work related because of WM 6.5. 6.5 has ZERO issue with exchange and the policies. No one trusts what MS says!

Enjoy tweaking it. I still think there will be some people on here that are waiting for the 6.5 so they can tweak it to death without having to wipe out everything they did. Just making a point for some of the people.

Dean I understand your point... I personally would like to get it with WM6.1 just so I can see the difference With 6.5. I guess I'm old school remembering the days when for compatibilities sake leaving the previous OS on until I was sure, cause the updates were one way... With and HTC phone we can cook whatever recipe suits us and we not bound by the limits of space and time!
Tweak away!

Mguzzy,

You probably already know this but a lot of programs that work on 6.1 do not support WVGA on the Imagio 6.5 screen so I assume it is the same on the TP2.

WM 6.5 was the easiet to synch to Exchange also. I installed the cert which was already on the SD Micro Card and didnt even need to reboot in order to get it synching. 10 minutes later all my email, contacts, calendar, etc were synched. I had run into numerous problems with WM 6.1 devices and the cers where 6.5 seems to be no issue at all.

I know some people will want to upgrade to 6.5 for the fun of it. I just hate it that people who will not use the forus will by Apps that work with 6.1 and then upgrade to 6.5 to find out they dont work.

For the record, I have found most of the apps/programs do work with 6.5 but they may not be in full screen.

Ya... I'm finding that as I write a few PPC apps for internal use... trying to make them work for all these screen geometries that are comming out!

What language are you coding them in? I am not a programmer but I am assuiming that they have templates for the different resolutions and devices out now or at least some skeleton code?
