Okay... Could I get a feel for when you placed your orders and when you received your tracking number.....
I placed my order last night at 9:30pm and I have yet to receive a tracking number even though I set it up for overnight delivery... I've called a few times and they say that the order is all good but it is waiting for the warehouse. They have no idea what is keeping it from moving and no ETA when they expect it to move although they say it is usually within a day... another hour and there is no way for a Friday delivery.
On a side note, I ordered my wife an omnia (she just wants a minor upgrade) and for $29.99 it is a deal.. I already have a tracking number for that phone.

Hi, from Eastern PA, I ordered online Oct-15 at 2:30 pm EST, received my Order Confirmation at 2:39pm EST via email, received my shipping confirmation at 4:06pm EST via email and Fedex confirms online that it's in transit with delivery on Oct-16 using standard overnight, so before 3pm. Fedex usually makes their deliveries in my area by 1pm.

Okay, simply delayed.... I guess I am just too anxious... Just received shipping information. Because I ordered via customer service, it doesn't get updated as fast. Will arrive tomorrow...

I have been checking the VZW website for over two weeks. TP2 out of stock every day until this morning. I immediately ordered it and it will be here on Friday morning (one day delivery). I have had my i760 since it first came out. It was the best phone I have ever used. I hope the TP2 lives up to expectations. I was waiting for the Omnia II, but decided I could not live without a physical keyboard. I played with a TP2 at a T-Mobile store because Verizon stores did not have any. Loved the virtual and the physical keyboards. That convinced me to zero in on the TP2 instead of the Omnia II.
I bought an extra battery to keep charged in the car as I will use the phone for business emails, texting and even remote access to support my various clients. Based on reviews, I don't expect the battery to last a full day of heavy use. If the features live up to expectation, I can live with using the extra battery towards the end of the day.
Here in the Washington D.C. area the TP2 became available once again on verizonwireless.com on Thursday, October 15th, however it is listed as "out of stock" again just one day later...
Either this phone is the hottest item that Verizon has ever sold or they have massively underestimated demand - or both. Verizon has never sold out in a single day - ever - on anything it has ever carried.
I actually ordered a Touch Pro 2 when it first came out to replace my i760 but soon after I got it I needed to sell it to pay a big unexpected bill. I got a handsome price for it on ebay (four times what I paid) but I knew once the financial emergency was over I would want to get another one.
I should have pulled the trigger last night and ordered it but I didn't. No big deal. I love my i760 so being stuck with it for another two weeks or a month or two is of no consequence to me.
By the way, the two days I had with the Touch Pro 2 were heaven. I can't wait until its in stock again.

We are in a very similar situation. I've been very pleased with my i760 and it's continuing to serve me well. I became eligible for "new-every-two" last July. I've had my i760 well over 2 years now. The TP2 is the 1st smartphone to come along since I got my i760 that has interested me. I'm still eager to upgrade but its not like I'm without a useable phone.
Me too. Just waiting for that "second" sale they always have on "new" phones after they have been released. That should just about make it free with my NE2. I think that price drop has been previewed a few times when people have been able to get it for $149. Same here in Northern CA... its was in stock for about a day and then out of stock.

I was one of the lucky ones who got the phone on Thursday with the brief period when the website did not show sold out. I got the phone on Friday and have been playing with it since. Wow, I thought the i760 was a great phone. I love it. I am a heavy user with texting, emailing, receiving documents from clients, handling incoming client calls, etc. I can tell this phone will meet and exceed everything my old i760 friend could handle.
I agree with the post that Verizon either screwed up big time and only ordered a small amount of phones or they are being swamped with orders for a truly great phone and everyone knows it. I am going for the latter.
Knowing Verizon like I do I don't think they will respond by increasing the number of Touch Pro 2 phones they have available. Instead like morons they will keep doling out the same supply. In another two weeks more will come and be gone in a day and the cycle will repeat until December. Then they will order more for the christmas season but that too will be gone in just a few days.
So my advice to all you who want one is to watch the website every day and place your order as soon as you see it available. Verizon has a great network but their procurement dept. is probably run by chimps. It is so rare that Verizon has a hot selling phone so when they do, they just don't know how to handle it.
That being said, based upon my 2 days with the Touch Pro 2 before I had to sell it, I will definitely adore the next one I get but... there is are two things about the i760 that I will miss... The D-pad and the numeric Keypad. Face it - no one is ever going to make a phone like the i760 again. I will retire it to the hall of fame when my Touch Pro 2 arrives.

When I first called in last Wed to order the phone they said they only received ~800 phones. I was fortunate to get one during the TP2 drought of '09. Can I say how excited I am to have received one. Definately the best phone I have ever owned.

Same here. Had actually received an e-mail response on Wednesday from support saying the usual "we have no idea when more will be here but keep checking" response, and out of dumb luck checked on Thursday to see it available for the $149.99 pricing. Ordered and had it in Friday, and haven't been able to put it down since. I have to agree that so far in just the few days I've had it, it has far surpassed any WM phone I have had previously.
Now the TP2 and the Imagio are both listed as "out of stock". It seems Verizon either doesn't want to sell a lot of these devices, or really underestimated their popularity.
Very frustrating. I placed my order on Thursday on the phone. Today my phone came... a Samsung Saga. They screwed it up, and then refused to upgrade me. In any case, now it's out of stock on the site no matter what zip code I put there (I tried Philadelphia, too).
Regardless, let me know if anyone has luck seeing it in stock online (or calling, for that matter). Dying to get this phone and get rid of my Saga!
Another factor is Verizon has deeply discounted this phone. Every other carrier wants three bills at least just to get in the game and that turns off a lot of people. I don't understand why it is people will pay $600-$700 for an iPhone 3Gs on craigslist but they won't spring for $350 for a far superior phone brand new.
Also, as I said before their procurement dept. is run by chimps. No one else is out of stock... I'm just saying...

reading these posts, I take it you guys don't care if you pick up the phone with WM 6.1 or 6.5? I wouldn't bother with 6.1 as 6.5 is just around the corner for this phone and it's getting good reviews. Of course ATT has the TP2 with 6.5 already.
I wouldn't worry much about getting it with 6.5 vs 6.1.
Mainly because it'll be upgradable to 6.5 when that happens.... secondly because the reviews on 6.5 aren't all that great. Unless I can find some compelling reason to upgrade I'll likely stick to 6.1 for quite some time.
I went by my local Verizon store and was surprised to see a working Imagio on display... but no TouchPro 2... what's with that. the TP2 came out fist but they're holding off putting it in the stores? They must think its going to be a specialized phone just for Business customers or something.
