Cool Calendar issue

One thing I've noticed switching from the i760...

My work location changes every week, so I add multiple "all day" entries spanning a week's time to my calendar so I know where I'll be working in future weeks.

On the i760, these "all day" entries were never displayed on the homescreen, but for some reason they are always displayed on the homescreen for the TP2. I don't need them on the homescreen at all since I already know where I am this particular week.

I've looked through all of the settings but can't find an option to change this back to the way it was. Any ideas on how to fix this? I use Wireless Sync to back up my calendar data if it matters...

Thanks in advance.

hmm - just spitballing, but have you tried using "free" status instead of tenative or busy when you set the appointments. I havent tried this but it might work.

Good thought, but changing the status and sensitivity of a calendar entry doesn't seem to change how it looks on the homescreen...

Any other ideas?

Goto Start>settings>today>items>highlight calander, then touch options. There will be a box you can uncheck for "Display all day events". That will take them off the homescreen.

Thanks mcharron...that indeed takes the entries off the homescreen if TouchFlo is off...but if TouchFlo is on, the all day entries are still there.

Looks like a TouchFlo issue...I'll try e-mailing HTC to see if there's a simple fix.

I guess I may have to choose between using TouchFlo and dealing with all day entries on the homescreen or turning it off and having the calendar show the entries I want.

Well, here is the official response from HTC...looks like the TouchFlo calendar doesn't provide the option for all day events that's in the Windows Mobile calendar.

Are there any calendar programs out there that people could recommend that have this option and are an improvement over what's already on the phone??

New Response From [ Joseph (North America Support (Tech)) ]
Hello,
I understand how frustrating it can be when a device does not function as expected. Touch Flo 3D is a replacement for the basic device interface, which is why it is it's own item on the Items tab in the Today settings. The calendar options that you access by tapping Calendar and Options have no bearing on the Calendar tab in Touch Flo 3D. Those settings are for if you turned Touch Flo 3D off and set the device up as one would a Windows Mobile 6.0 or 5.0 device. There is no way to disable the display of all day items on the Home tab of Touch Flo 3D. I apologize for any frustration this may have cased you.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact us again or check HTC Smartphone Wiki - HTC as well. We also invite you to participate in our feedback survey at survey.htc.com/worldwide. We enjoy getting feedback from our customers and look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Joseph
Customer Information

Inquiry Description I just purchased a Verizon TouchPro2 that uses TouchFlo3D and love it. However, there is a small glitch on the today screen I can't seem to fix. I do not want to see all day calendar events on the Today screen. In the settings for Windows Mobile for the Today screen, if I go under items and highlight "Calendar", I can click options and then uncheck "Display all day events" so that these events do not show up on the Windows Today screen. However, the all day events still show up on the TouchFlo Today screen, even with this setting. Is there an easy fix that I'm missing, or is this something that could be addressed later with a software update? Thanks for your time.

well, to be honest, the tf3d calendar tab is not that great anyway. My suggestion would be to just shut that tab off and set calendar as a top app in your start menu list. You will both save ram and get your functionality - just lose some sexiness and add one extra tap to get there. It sucks, but you may be stuck there. Sorry for the lame work around.
