Turn Off GPS to save battery, how???

How do you turn off the GPS or can you? There is nothing in the manual. I only want the GPS to run when I need it. I'm trying to save battery life.

Or does it only run when you run GPS Software?

Battery Life SUCKS!!! 24 hours.

I'm trying to turn off everything I can, Push, Bluetooth, etc to make the battery last longer. I bought a 2nd battery and would have bought a larger capacity if they were available.

My I760 would last 2-3 days.

Lenny

Thanks,
But does that turn it off?

Am I using the less power by changing the setting?

Another question, am I worrying about "Nothing" it is a receiver not a transmitter like bluetooth.

Does "not running Google Earth" use less power that when it's running?

you are worrying about nothing. the GPS uses battery power for sure but its not enough to make you want to jump thru hoops to disable it.

if you are using the Tweaks pack thats out for the phone that saves a lot of resources and battery. if you want to conserve as much battery power as you can , disable the data connection, BT, WIFI, lower your screen backlight, time the device to power off after X minutes and quit any memory intensive apps, such as the camera. RAM memory uses power and the more apps you have running the more RAM is used and therefore more battery is required...
