Where's the third tab in Opera?

You've got to be kidding me! It looks like we can only open up to 2 tabs now in Opera. Is this the same for all of us? I use multiple tabs all the time. I was hoping they would increase the number of tabs allowed, but instead they have decreased it. is anyone else upset about this?

rob try this -

launch opera

type opera:config into the address bar (no http)

choose user prefs

scrol to max tabs

set it to what you want (I have 5)

scroll to bottom of user prefs and choose save

exit browser

relaunch browser

enjoy more tabs!!

Wow! Thanks for the info about the user prefs. I've been using Opera since version 8.60 and had no idea that there was more to it. So a hundred times, Thanks!

I was able to find user prefs, then found "Maximum allowed Tabs." I selected 5, went to the bottom, and clicked on SAVE. I got a message that said, "settings saved." I exited opera. relaunched it, and no luck. I was still limited to 2 tabs. I tried the same thing with a soft reset after closing opera and still only 2 tabs. every time I go back to "opera:config" it is set back at 2 tabs. I tried to change other settings, and they dont work either. Seems I cant change my settings at all. I was able to change the number of tabs on my old TP1 no problem. I'm very frustrated. Any ideas?

Thanks
Rob

Ok, I was able to change the amount of tabs I'm using in Opera on my Touch Pro 2. I found a post in XDA-developers.com that addresses the Opera settings issue. Here is the link:

xda-developers - View Single Post - [App][14-07-09] Stop PushInternet for real - save 9.5 MB memory

I installed the CAB file that allows opera to completely shutdown, and after doing so, I once again went into user prefs and changed the number of tabs setting, but this time it worked. Awesome!! I haven't tried it yet, but I think that if I wanted to, I could uninstall the CAB, and I would still have the number of Tabs I selected in Opera.

Yeah, the config menu is pretty powerful. I did not have to use that cab, but I am not sure why. I am still concerning installing it just to get the ram back when not in use, but I am guessing that would kill the push web sites from working. Currently, I am not using the intrenet tab or push web, so this is not biggie for me.

Okay for those that want more tabs in opera. Here is the fix. use Total commander. Go to windows/opera9/opera.ini. Then use editor and go down to User Prefs and find. (maximum allowed tabs.and change it to whatever amount you want then save. Soft reset your phone and that should do the trick. I have mines set for 5. Enjoy

Why not just do it in the program options?
