When I have my text and email notifications set to not vibrate when volume is at full on the device, shouldn't they vibrate when the phone is set to vibrate?
Basically, when my phone is set to vibrate, I'm not alerted in any way of a new text or email message.
When you go to Sounds from Touch Flo 3D click Advanced and on the sounds tab, make sure Programs is checked and the box below for Notifications is checked as well.
Hmm...I don't know. I was having a slightly similar issue (mine wasn't alerting me at all, even when the volume was turned up. Checking those two worked for me. I'm still pretty new to this phone and WM so maybe someone with experience will be able to help you figure it out.
Have you tried Settings>All Settings>Personal>Sounds & Notifications> Notifications. Then selecting from the pull down Event menu and modifying the ring type from the second pull down? Round about, but if it solves you problem then maybe worth it.

I have tried this. If I don't have vibrate checked in that last menu, there is no notification while the phone is in vibrate mode. It's not a huge deal, but the vibrate on this phone is so powerful that the audible alert gets distorted by the vibrating.
I really miss the dual volumes the touch pro had. My problem is now there is no way to turn the volume all the way down without putting it on silent or vibrate. If you put it on silent nothing will vibrate, if you put it on vibrate it vibrates for everything. I'm on call 24x7, I don't want to be woke up by new emails but I do for txt, phone calls, and alarms. If you put the volume on silent it won't vibrate. If I put it on vibrate it vibrates for everything. If I don't turn the volume down I get woke up all night by new emails. I just want the volume to be off and for it to still vibrate when I get a call, txt, or alarm. Is there maybe a registry hack to fix? I installed spb time to use as an alarm and it will vibrate no matter what but that doesn't fix the txt/phone and I hate having to run another app just for an alarm function that's already built in to the OS.

I'm curious what resolution you find to this. I tried a Blackberry for about three weeks, and that was a feature the BB had that I really liked. I learned that the BB OS wasn't for me and that I would stick with WM.
I currently just have to set my current phone to silent over night so that spammish email doesn't wake me up.
No TP2 for me yet, still waiting on Verizon to close the Alltel store and open their own store in town.
You do know that you can touch the volume button(s) on the side to show the volume level, then touch the screen until you get the actual level you wish....right? Or will this not solve your specific issue?

OK Feel a bit stupid now, it looks like if you use you finger on the screen you can set it to one bar which effectively mutes the email notifications. What's strange is it doesn't affect the ringer volume. It's like there's still a separate phone volume. I guess I can live with this.
Update: It doesn't really mute the volume all the way. I just had a alert tone that is so soft it's hard to hear with the volume all the way down on one bar.

You can change it back to the old volume control...
Go to the "Settings" Touch Flo tab, click "Sound".
There is an option for "Single Volume", turn it off, it goes back to the dual volume control...

Turn Touch Flo on, then make this change, and turn it back off...

Another 'sounds and notifications' question for ya'll. I love that this phone has soooo many control options for sounds and notificaitons. I changed a setting last night that I thought would be helpful - something like 'prevent sounds when calendar shows busy'. And sure enough today I had an all day appointment on my calendar so the phone was TOTALLY silent all day. Can any of you savvy people just list the location of the sound and notificaiton values?
There is:
The normal sound control on the up/down buttons
The sounds item in settings
The sounds and notificaiton item in settings>all settings
The 'sound alarms even when the device is set to silent or vibrate' in settings>clock & alarms> 'more' tab
But I still can't find the silent on appointment one. Hrumph.
Gadget girl, maybe you know this, but your phone was silent because your appointment showed a status of "busy". In outlook terms if you look at the meeting you want your all day events to show you as "free".
