Touch pro clean up cab

In case you all havent seen this: Clean up cab

GoodThings2Life created this cab to muck out all the crap and enable most of the known registry enhancements for the TP2. My verizon TP2 is booting with only 37% of memory used now and is speedy as hell. Only thing to remember is that you cant use the Advances config tool to remove the sent message notification (verizon users) with this installed. Instead, do this:

If you don't want to do the advanced config route, just modify the following keys:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings SMSNoSentMsg = 0
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Default Options = 0
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings DisableSMSDeliveryReceipt = 0

I put that on last night and it's quite nice. Also, I think that's why I've got auto-rotation in IE and Google Maps now as well. (Don't think that worked before I put that cab in).

There are two cabs in that thread. Would I be downloading both and applying them to my phone?

you download one or the other, not both. if you read the first post it explains everything and what each does.

Thanks for the answer. I downloaded one of the Verizon ones. It brought my Memory usage down to about 55%. It was running about 76% before the cab. Thanks for the recommendation!

I like having the clock show on the taskbar all the time. Will I be able to reactivate that feature? The list says that it turns that off. I was hoping I would not have to do another regedit to turn it back on.

that is a simple check in the settings of the phone. no need to do any reg hacks. so yes you can reactivate it...

was anyone able to confirm if some or all of the cab worked? It seems like some did for me but not all.

Most obvious was that it did not clear pkg and htcstart from the startup group. But some did work because I def see the double height SMS typing window and some other tweeks.

its best you start from a fresh phone and install his pack. if you alter any of the hacks that he does in his pack that can cause issues. i have installed both of them at one time or another and they all installed fine but i had a fresh hard reset prior to install..

the latest packs work just fine....

I agree. A hard reset is best before installing his pack, and worst case, you will need to delete the mail account and reinstall it. Just save the file to a memory card, do a hard reset, install his cab right off the bat, and then setup.

Can't wait for the HardSPL to be broken and we can get our own ROMs. It was nice of him to pack most of the reg tweaks and current adjustments in to one file, saved me from having to do it... LOL

OK, this may seem like a stupid question but, if I take out any tweaks I have done and then do a Sprite backup, then a hard reset to install the cab, can I restore from my Sprite backup or do I have to reinstall all my programs from scratch? I know it would be better to do that, but do I have to?

if you want to use this tweak pack, i SUGGEST you hard reset, THEN choose and install the pack you want. THEN do a backup if you wish. if you start removing hacks, everything may not get removed and/or restored to original. for the most worry free way , id just hard reset. these packs really do a great job and are a great idea if you are not ready/cant use a unofficial ROM...

Cab works great, but how do I get it to stop announcing incoming email messages?

Exclamation Not sure of these .cab installs

I have the Verizon HTC Pro 2. Yes I do want to get rid of the internet push memory hog.... my concern is... after editing the registry will the new version of mobile (6.5) coming out very soon over ride the changes made via reg hacks when installed?

Also, with a memory card , what is the best way to install these .cab's.

Thanks ahead of time.
