If you go to the Pandora Web site, it will tell you that the application is not yet available for the TP2. I installed it using the cab file for my old mogul, with mixed results.
The application started and gave me a choice of my custom stations, but the type was tiny (unreadable for these old eyes) and the display was sufficiently scrambled that I could not do much other than listen to my chosen station. When exiting the program, the music kept on playing.
which dosen't have a perfect display (little small), but I can live with it. The only problem I am having is that I can only play about 1/2 of a song then it skips to the next song.
I get the feeling that it is not the pandora progam I am using, but it has somthing to do with my connection. The data connection arrows (just above the signal strength) dims (turns gray) quite often as if the data connection is going dormant. My old I760 never did this and I listened to pandora all the time. By the way I am on Verizon. Any suggestions?
I loaded the Pandora CAB from my old Samsung i760. It basically works.
There are UI two problems:
1. The fonts are tiny (nearly unreadable), so you kinda have to guess. Buttons are similarly tiny and hard to press. Once you pick a station and go, no reading is required, so this is an annoyance.
2. The UI is designed for a dpad. Since the fonts are small, it is very difficult (impossible?) to press the control buttons. If you open the keyboard, you can use the arrow keys and enter. Right = skip forward, Left = skip back, Enter = Play / Pause and Up/Down = volume (I think).
Other than these UI issues, I have not had any trouble with it (so far anyway).
Thanks very much for writing. We really appreciate your suggestion. We
have added a few Windows Mobile phones that support Pandora and we are
working to bring Pandora to more devices, we're working toward a
"universal" build, rather than one that relies on the specific device's
architecture (as they do now). The Touch Pro and Pro 2 are actually
what's been holding it up, they have problems with audio playback...
Shouldn't be very long.
Since you've got a communcation opened with them, could you inquire what he means by "Shouldn't be very long." Days, weeks, months, quarters,...? A time frame would be nice to know.
I enjoy Pandora on my G1 so much and it's a shame that it's not out for the TP2! I do use Slacker however and it's just as good! I use the free version.
