Overview
The T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition was one of the first devices available to use Microsoft's Phone Edition of the Pocket PC Operating system. Prior to this device hitting the market, in the US there was only the
Audivox Thera on the market that coverged a phone and Pocket PC. The Audivox Thera, however, did not run Phone Edition and relied on a proprietary dialer program. It was available in the US starting in mid-2002 from
T-Mobile (formerly VoiceStream) in the US.
AT&T later released a device based on the same
HTC Wallaby platform as the
AT&T SX-56. On the international market, the
XDA was also based on the same HTC platform.
