Out of the box, the Phone Edition doesn't support MMS. I confess that I'm not fully up to speed on this question, but I'll post some facts here, and hopefully those in the know will fill in what's missing for us... that's the way this FAQ database is supposed to work!

-Mobile Germany offers software update for MDA that makes it MMS compatible

Another operator, O2, offers such update (for xda) already for some time, but now also T-Mobile offers such update for MDA cellphone (Pocket PC phone) that makes it MMS capable. You have to click
here to download the update to your PC computer (click there on link "MMS Software") and then it will be installed on MDA through synchronization (with help of ActiveSync).
However still such services of T-Mobile Germany like MMS-News and M-Cards cannot be yet received by MDA - it should be possible at the beginning of next year. To activate MMS user has to send one MMS message somewhere - otherwise the MMS receiving is not working.
Typical use case for MMS on Pocket PC phone is for example that parent has Pocket PC phone and child has MMS-enabled regular cellphone with camera, that is used to send pictures to the parent. Viewing MMS messages on Pocket PC is very comfortable and Pocket PC phone is a perfect device for these purposes.
