ActiveSync issues

Hi Everyone,

I just recently got the SMT5800 after having the MotoQ for 2+ years. I never had a problem syncing the MotoQ with my Outlook at work, but I have run into some difficulties in the past few days. The IT person was able to give me clearance to try to resolve the issues (I don't think she has the time to work on the problem herself).

At this point, when I plug the phone into the USB port, the ActiveSync window opens, and it begins Synchronizing the phone. However, none of my contacts or schedule gets updated, and I get a window that says "Synchronization could not be completed. Try again later. Support Code: 8000ffff"

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

-John

Me too! (active sync issues)

I'm in the same boat...or at least pretty similar. Found this forum and simply HAD to register to reply to this thread since no one else has. Here's what may be the answer (at least it is on my laptop):

I installed (and uninstalled and reinstalled and unistalled and reinstalled...) active sync and turned my firewall (ZoneAlarm free) off. Then suddenly it stopped hanging up (on Synchronizing but no progress bar) and started actually sync'ing my fairly large contacts & calendar from Outlook. Worked like a charm! Then today I brought my laptop to work and tried to sync up again it didn't work. Just got home and remembered to turn off the firewall and sure enough it started to sync again! Disconnected and tried it again and it has locked up mid-sync. Anyone else with any input on this?

Still trying to get it to work...don't scratch the firewall advice completely yet but I'm still having trouble with sync locking up.

I actually was able to circumvent the problem. I saw that the ActiveSync was attempting to sync my phone with information on my work's server as opposed to simply syncing with Outlook on my PC. Once I made that change in the settings, it has been working fine!

Thank you for the advice though!!
