Manual Program Code from VZW

A little Background....(Cut to the *** for the short story)
My SMT5800 used to allow me to switch network settings between A/B. Switching to Auto A allowed my phone to Roam another carrier while inside a manufacturing facility. I could text all day long and make calls in open areas without issue.

After my phone started dumping data I Cold Booted and performed *228 to restore service. No problems or so it seemed. The A/B option is now Auto or Home Only. (Auto means Auto-B which is the VZW network).

The VZW tech I spoke to said that all phones are updated this way when you *228 to prevent roaming on carriers not under contract with VZW and thereby incurring Roaming charges. Arguing that I didn't care about roaming charges didn't matter, he sounded like VZW was doing me a favor.

***
Anyway....He spoke of a manual programming code (He gave me a bogus ##78 after pressing him for it). He said he wouldn't recommend it because if not configured properly you may disable your phone. The code I was given may have been garbled or garbage but this and a service code must be available.

Anyone know of the manual code for this phone? Service Code? Or if you have the time, call and see what you get.

Thanks for your replies.

Got It - Nothing New?

I'm sure it's old news to everyone but me but here's what I got....tell me to do a search if the settings for this are already covered.

Programming Mode:
##778 then SEND

Select EDIT
Code is 000000 (6 zeros)

Anything useful here?
