Seems the HTC Home plugin for our smartphones is finally working. At least I'm told as I have not tested this on my phone yet. This has been around for a while now, but the contacts portion was never really working until now. Give it a try if you would like. Sorry for the pics being in French, but I grabbed them from the French skinning site, Nectun being as I don't exactly have these themes installed on my phone as of now at least.
SWEET! Many, many thanks for posting this. Pre SMT5800 release I was keeping up on the various forums (xda, modaco, etc.) for a great HTC Home theme/screen/plug-in and nobody had a fully functional one. But this one rocks.
After doing a little research, this one was ripped straight from the S730. Anyway, it installed easy and works flawlessly so far. Only thing to do is add a quick-launcher. I'm guessing Facade, but anyone have any other options for how to add a recently-used apps. or quick-launcher on top of this (plenty of room at the bottom for plug-ins).
Yeah, I'm shocked it took so long for a fully functional version of this to come out. Seemed like every release could never get the contacts to work and some had weather issues as well. Reports have all been great on this release.
hey i downloaded and am trying out this homescreen, so far it is cool. The one problem I had was that it does not display all day events from my calendar. It shows my appointments, but not the all day events, which I would want to see (like a birthday). Is there a way to change the settings?

To modify the settings you need to either: (1) edit the HTC Home.xml file; or (2) find either a commercially available or xda-developer-type existing mod. that adds further calendar functionality. I'm in the process of adding a quick-launcher by editing the xml. If I have any success that overlaps with modifying the calendar (I'm actually trying to remove it entirely; I don't use the calendar function), I'll make sure to link or post.

It looks like the "allday" event is a Windows mobile included plugin. All you need to do is add the plugin to whatever home screen you are using. If you add the following to the xml of the homescreen (matching the sizes and colors to what you want), it should include your allday event.
i recently bought an smt5800 and for these past couple days all i've been doing is researching how we can mod our phones...So far this is what i found..
Because we have a sliding out fone, we cannot just get any homescreen, we need to get hoemscreens that are either customized to our fone the smt 5800 (s720) or homescreens that are customized to the s710 and s730 phones (they have sliding out qwerty keyboard as well). There's different plugins which our fones can use, but those plugins need to be linked in the .xml files (these are the files that display the homescreen). First you need to unlock your fone in order to install anythign inside the fone (see above). A classic homescreen for our fones is the HTC homescreen, but i don't really care for it since it only displays one line of the calendar, instead of whats going on today AND tomorrow or the next day. The best homescreen can be found here:
All those themes are on Nectun v2-Le smartphone autrement . It is really hard to find much at all in terms of themes for our phones right now since there are so few slider smartphones. The one pain is that pretty much all the Vox and Wing themes have WiFi settings in them. Just makes it more of a pain since you gotta get rid of it and edit the actual skins most of the time to get rid of the logo as well.
I personally have my eye on this theme by another XDA dev, but I'm way too lazy to get rid of the WiFi.
