HTC 5800 Software

I Just ordered my Verizon SMT5800 (and am new to the pda/smartphone genre) and am yearning for some help on programs. Any Must have's or nice to haves. Also a better Internet Browser because from what i heard. I was hoping to find like a safari/webkit for smartphones but from what i figure they are only for pda phones w/ touch screen's. Any Help is Appreciated?

for smartphones, sbsh's facade and papyrus are must-haves - they make the calendar and tasks programs usable and allow you to customize homescreens nicely. smartphone notes is also great as it allows you to sync your notes from outlook.

Is there freeware that lets you modify your home page? VZW's defaults are hopelessly weak

you can just edit the xml code in the home screen. copy the xml file for the screen to your pc and open it with notepad and edit away. without any additional programs like facade you wont have alot of choices for plugins.

voice?

I can't bring myself to spend $40 for Voice Command. Any good, cheap alternatives for voice dialing (not just tags)?

Handango sent me this coupon for 15% off purchases thru Jan 31st:

NEWYEAR2008

Perhaps that will convince you to get VC.

Will VC 1.6 work on this? According to all the resellers, they say the SMT5800 does not support it.

I'm using Facade and it works great. I did try 1-Home Edit and it was weak. I'm also using Smartphone Notes, Areacode 2, ListPro, eWallet, Resco File Explorer, Resco Picture Viewer and they are all working well.

I just bought CoPilot Live 7 for GPS Navigation and I'm really not happy with it. Will any other GPS Navigation Software work on this phone?
