Question Can the Android tether AND talk at the same time?

I'm a pissed off AT&T customer sick of all the dropped calls which seems to get more and more frequent starting 6 or so months ago. Thus, I'm looking into getting back with Verizon....

However, one of the biggest features I liked about AT&T (Tilt) is that I can surf the web AND talk at the same time. OR I can also "tether" AND talk at the same time. This is the only reason why I haven't gone to the iPhone...AT&T does not allow you to tether AT ALL with the iPhone (without undoing your warranty).

So, in my effort to go back with Verizon, can the Android phones
1) Tether AND talk on the phone at the same time?
2) Talk and surf the web at the same time?

Thanks in advance!!!

Its not the device, its the network. VzW can't do both at the same time...yet.
