I got to say that I have seen an improvement in my battery life, and to be honest I haven't thought it was all that bad. Someone said something that got me thinking...cant remember where I saw it but it made sense. He said that a device that can do so much should be expected to have a not so good battery life. That doesn't mean that you should running for the charger when you get home for the day, but I think that it is what it is. Hopefully they will offer a bigger and better battery if they haven't already..until then I can deal with what I get now. I'm to busy to be using it on a consistent basis through out the day anyway.
I got 4.5 hours out of it with a full charge (after a full discharge) only using 20% of the battery life. This involved me running the memory cleaner utility automatically every 3 hurs and utting a slot SD Miccro HD card i.
However, A soon as VZW has the 2100mah batteries in stock, I am going to buy one I just hope they make aa cradle or some mthod to charge the 2nd battery so i can take both batteries with mne fully chatged.
I've had my Imagio for about 3 weeks now, and I've been quite satisfied with my battery life so far. I now typically get 2-3 days between charges, though that most definitely wasn't the case at first!
I did not charge my battery until I ran it all the way down to the point where the phone shut down. Then I charged it for a good 10 hours. I again ran the battery down all the way (took only about 12 hours), and charged overnight plus (I forget exactly how long). I may have repeated that process one more time. Since then, I only charge up every 2+ days, and even went for a bit longer than 3 days on one charge. I strongly suspect that the battery requires some conditioning before it works optimally.
To put things in perspective:
I'm a light phone user compared to most folks around here, typically making only a dozen or less brief calls a day, max (excluding short traffic service updates), and only a few texts, etc., as well
I browse the 'net quite a bit
I run a variety of medical applications (i.e. Epocrates) on a frequent basis, and I allow them to perform scheduled syncs (using the data connection) on a daily basis
Bluetooth stays on 24/7, and is used primarily to link to my car during twice daily, 5 days/week, hour-plus commutes, along with miscellaneous trips at other times; I rarely use an earpiece
I only turn on WiFi when I know it's available (I have an unlimited data plan) or when I specifically want to use it
I typically enjoy very good, non-roaming coverage that usually gives me 3 or more bars of signal strength; so the phone isn't searching much
I don't use the phone as a modem
I've only tried the FM and music functions, and don't use V-cast at all
The worst battery life I've had to date (other than the first few days) occured on occasions where I was in a building where I had no signal (it's a hospital, and is well shielded). In one instance, the battery drained from nearly 100% full down to 20% in about 3-4 hours. I assumed that the drain was due to the phone boosting power while searching for a signal, so I shut down the phone's radios (went to 'airline mode') the next time I was in that building; I had no battery drain that time.
Same as Dzanda getting 2-3 days easy.
WiFi on constant updating on stock market
daily browser use.
I also ran the battery down and then charged it back completely.
I think the "Memory Leak" thread is where I got all my battery saving techniques. Epocrates. Nice.
Anyhow. I instituted the techniques I rwad and over the last few days have had my best battery time. Friday I was home sick. Light phone use. Moderate web use 3G and wifi. 1 photo. 40 minute conference call on speakerphone. Moderate sms and email (windows live app) No blue tooth use. 22 hours before my imagio went on the charger.
Yesterday light phone use. Just a couple weekend calls. Light GPS-I saved my parking spot as a Google Map favorite at the football game. Light web (3G and wifi), light text and email. 64% remaining this morning.
I am very happy with the battery length. I just think it's unfortunate it takes so much research to fine tune these devices. Most people just want out of the box satisfaction. Of course, the iPhone knock is poor battery, and you can;t even carry a back up OR tweak the phone since it's a closed system.
Yes I fine tuned my phoen also but there is a simple method to get very good battery life without tweaking the phone to death.
First off, the phone has an issue where is you use it before fully charging it, the battery will not work right.
The key is to run the battery down to 10 percent, taken the battery out, put it back in for 10 hours + of charging. I went from 4 hours completely dead to 16 hours with 40 - 50 percent left
The 2nd think to change is turn off auto backlight. Set it on 20 - 30 percent and that will help battery life tremendoulsy.

Wow. I didn't know that about the battery. I am getting really good times now even without that process. One month in. Is it too late to do that?
What does the autobacklight do? I changed the setting but am curious how it impacts battery life.
The auto backlight has a sensor that is constantly polling the light levels outsiode and adjusting the backlight to the proper level. I just keep my phone at around 30 percent brightness which is plenty for me.
When my Samsung 760 would start running through the battery quickly, I would drain the battery to 10%. Remove the battery. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Insert the battery and charge to 100%. That seemed to fix the issue.
My Imagio runs a good 2 - 3 days on a charge. No wi-fi. Turned off GSM network. Manual sync of email. No blue tooth. Listen to MP3s. Browse quite a bit. Moderate phone call use.
