Yes I second the request! We need a place to talk about this phone, and its not the same as ANY other HTC phone with WM 6.5 and features so we could definitely use it.
I cannot believe my eyes PDA Phone Home does not have a thread started for the Imagio Yet? or M I just missing something? Mine will be here today! and without PDA Phone to tell me how to get the full potential out of it IM screwed!
Sling Player mobile does not work? For some reason it just comes up and says that the Imagio is not a valid PPC platform?
Update: Im an Idiot I was trying to install a EXE file ran the CAB and installed fine.
Initial Impressions so far: Phone look and feels state of the art its solid as hell and looks a hell of alot better than my xv6800. Still getting used to Touch Flo...not a bad interface just not used to it. Email and contacts transferred no prob. Oh and yes its a finger print MAGNET! the touch keyboard is Ok I have some big ass paws and find myself deleting misspells about 20% of the time. So so good.....
I was coming from the Touch Pro. I think the Imagio is a great phone. This is my first PDA without a keyboard as far back as I can remember. I was really worried about it at first. I since have installed FingerKeyboard 2.1 from XDA developers, after playing with different skins and layout I must say its not to bad. It is still going to take some getting used to for me though...
I went into the Verizon store to get contacts and what not transferred and the sales person looked at me like I had a third eye How did you get that phone he asked? Like I just broke some law! Im not even sure we have software for that yet? and as far as accessories forgettaboutit!!! It just cracks me up the lack of support verizon provides to the retail stores! I wont even go into the story of how I tried to see the phone last week at a retail location before I purchased it online...I thought I was going to be physically removed from the store for just asking about it!! LOL
+1 for me as a new Imagio Owner from the i-760, we need the page.
WM 6.5 syncs to Exchange 2003 seaminglessly just like other versions but we need to start a thread on battery life and any tweaks that can save battery life as well as some place to purchase a 2nd battery for a decent price. I have not checked VZW yet for a 2nd battery. I keep it plugged up in my car the whole time.
Also, just a note for those who use PDANET to teather, version 2.0 of PDANET works great with Imagio. It cost me 19.99 for the upgrade from 1.6x to 2.0 but it is worth it to be able to tether for internet access.
I really do like the phone but it is going to take a while to get proficient on the touchscreen keyboard.
Hi,
Glad to here PDA net works.
Are you having any problems with Auto Rotation? SOmetimes I can get to work with text messaging and at times it does not. To me, this is very important with the virtual key board.
I wish HTC would check out the LG Versa and EnvTouch. The Virtual keyboard was awesome on that phone, and the size of the letters on the keyboard are nice too!
Thx, Louise

No problems with the rotation. Once you turn the phone just tilt it toward you a little. There is also a calibration tool.
I have the battery issue fixed. I have gone 8 hours today and still have 80% battery life with email synching to exchange instantly and using the phone and some blutooth.
For some reason, the phone comes with a battery of about 40% charge. Run the battery all the way down to below 10%. Take the battery out and plug it back in and charge it for at least 10 hours. This is a must. Once you do that, the 1500mah battery should give you plenty of life. I also disabled the auto adjust for backlight because the sensor eats up a lot of mahs. I set it to 30%.
If you dont do a lot internet browsing and set your synch to 5 minutes, I believe this phone would last for days as when it goes into standby mode, it eats up next to know power.
I have to tell you I wasnt sure about this phone at first but after spending about 20 + hours of customizing it and tweaking it, it is an amazing device and easily surpasses the I760.
I still would like a slide out keyboard but that is what the HTC Touch Pro 2 is for but it has Windows 6.1 and I decided that I didnt want to go through another upgrade and who knows if HTC will officially support it.
Once you figure out where all the settings are you can use this phone 95% of the time without the stylus and I actually like the touch keyboard and am much better with it than I could when trying the iphone.
Also, the Windows Marketplace has a great call screening program for only $1.99 which lets you screen calls by any criteria you want. I paid $50 bucks on my I760 for an app that was buggy and not as simple. It is called No Calls. Also, I recommend the 99 cent program FAKE CALL where you can hardcode a button to do a fake call incoming to get out of meetings, etc.
Anybody know how to get the default weather city (North Shores City) deleted out of the Imagio. I've put my own cities in but I cannot find where this thing is listed in order to delete it. It does not show up in my list of other cities. How weird is that?
Gotta say I luv the phone tho, get's easier to use with time.
So far batt time is good on second day of use since last charge and still have 80% batt life with normal usage.
Could use a better way to put your App's in order without having to delete them and then add them back in.
Bought the WrightRight universal screen savers at Wally World and they work perfect with no problems.
Verizon now has the leather holder with belt clip made just for the Imagio.
Let's you access all the buttons and charger connection without taking it out of the holder. 19 bucks and change I think.
Any other forums out there addressing the Imagio?
Later
Enophite... I am not sure but I believe the city you are referring to is either the city you are currently in or the last one where the phones GPS worked with the program. When you press update now, does a little globe/cross air rotate next to the city name? If so what its doing is using your GPS to find out where you are and then giving you weather for that location. Really its a pretty cool feature as I travel to several cities a week and I don't have to change anything. The other locations you can pick yourself.
Figured it out finally, click on the clock on the default page and then select which city to use as your default.
My nearest city is Brownsville, TX and I have no idea where North Shores city is, but wherever it is it's 20 degrees cooler there
Location service settings is on and HTC location service is checked, not sure why it's not updating the city automatically.
I have had mine for a week now and its a love hate relationship.
Originally I hated the keyboard (or lack of) and now its a thing of the past. I still would prefer real keys but I like the slim size and have gotten good with it.
It accessed my 3 mail accounts the 1st night and I am slowly learning all of the many features. Did I mention I HATE Windows in general???
I am a Mac man but have gotten use to the 6.5 OS.
The phone is great and the animated weather is awesome.
