Backlight Adjustability Question

I just received a Diamond as a replacement for my Touch and overall I like it much better.

I did like being able to adjust the backlight on the Touch by simply pressing the icon. Does this feature exist on the Diamond?

Thanks.

I don't think that was a default feature of the Touch. Maybe you had a 3rd party program installed that did this? The Diamond is nice because it automatically adjusts the backlight as conditions brighten or darken.

It was a default feature of the Touch.

I can't stand how the screen on the Diamond constantly gets darker to save the battery.

I've used many phones as flashlights before and the autodim on the Diamond is a pain in the A$%...

You mentioned there was an icon to do this? Where is it on the Touch? I owned the Sprint version & never saw such an icon, so maybe it's a Verizon thing.

Regarding the auto adjust backlight function on the Diamond, there's a checkbox to turn this feature on/off in Settings>Power>Backlight.

Also, you might be interested in Lumos, an alternative app being developed for controlling the backlight.

Our Sprint Touch's (along with all the Touch's) on the main screen as part of the HTC home application. You select the last tab (the screen with the shortcuts) and it will be there.

Oh that's right.. I had completely forgotten about that!

There's probably a way to program one of the programs tab on the Diamond to do the same thing?
