Angry Many odd issues with this phone

I've had a number of odd issues with this phone, wanted to post them and see if anyone else is suffering these, or if I just got a bum phone.

Camera issues - There's serious lag-time between when I press the button to take a picture, and the time the CCD stops capturing the image. Pressing the circle to focus and 'lock' the image - takes 3-5 seconds. For the picture to actually 'take' is another full second and change. Forget getting a picture of anything that moves. Moving the camera while lining up the shot causes noticeable movement 'streaks' as the CCD lags behind real-time significantly. This does not go away when video is being taken - video looks like it's about 5fps.

Phone vibrates, won’t stop – receiving new email at times causes the unit to buzz and never stop. Turning the power off and on is necessary to get it to stop - though, once, I had to remove the battery to get the vibration to stop.

Phone locks up, can’t navigate – I usually notice this if the phone has been dormant a while. I have to press the ‘call’ button then 'home' again to get it to unlock.

Date/time issues – Once, the phone reset itself to 12:01am 1 Jan 1980. It still rang my alarm at the correct time, however! Another time, the ‘Home’ page lost a portion of the date/time interface, I could not access any of the date/time settings, and the box for the date/time was partially missing.

I’ve also had it lose my voicemail number, and replace it with someone else’s. I’ll blame Sprint, not the phone, for that one.

Other than that, it's a great phone.

since this is a fairly new device, i would do a complete hard reset (clear storage) and play with the phone with nothing installed. if you still have those issues, i would simply return it/swap another one.

I have the Touch Pro but I've experienced the camera zoom issue you have spoken about as well as the infinite vibration. I barely use the camera zoom since it destroys the quality so that doesnt bother me, but it does concern me that maybe video isnt great on this phone. The vibration I've noticed happens only when the phone is locked and off for me, and its occasional. Usually unlocking my phone works to stop it but the first time it happened I did soft reset.

Do you have a lock on your phone? Mine automatically locks and secures it with a PIN after 15 minutes, which is the only time I'll see the vibration problem.

the zoom is dependent on how you use the navi button. thee are settings in the camera you cna use to do all of those items all with one button press. the phone is not a high speed DSLR, so dont expect it to take still photos of fast action. the phone has to zoom, focus, adjust.. so yeah it takes time. its not a bug in the camera. thats how its designed.

play around with the other options within the camera to see if they help.

PLEASE! I have had other HTC phones (PPC6700, Mogul 6800) that have not been near this bad! It has to be a firmware issue or maybe a rom update can fix. The camera should have been omitted in its current state as its useless!

Sorry, but the camera focuses in that 3-5 second time lag, something the 6700 and 6800 did not do, therefor it has a 10 if not 100x better picture.
