Hi all,

MY 6700 finally failed on me this past friday. The usb port on the 6700 was physically damaged (all those frequent charging and transferring) and the touch screen was not functioning.

This gave me the opportunity to upgrade to the diamond. I am now wondering can i use the usb from the 6700 to charge/sync the diamond? The cable works but i notice the usb connector is design slightly different. I would hate to damage the usb port of this new phone because i'm not using the supplied cable

yes you can use the 6700 cable. if you have purchased the diamond, it comes with a usb cable. curious, why not use the diamond cable? OR do you just want another cable/backup cable? if so, virtually any mini usb cable works..

I want to leave the diamond usb cable connected to the ac charger so i can charge it at home and bring the 6700 cable with me to work. It's a pity the diamond did not come with an independent ac adapter or charging stand like the 6700

yeah i saw some others mention that as a negative but in all honesty i never used the AC chargers with the 67 or 68.. i always used a usb cable-- i have a usb cable on both my comcast dvr boxes and then i have one for the laptop and cars.. so i was always covered.

I noticed ed the same with the Pro. The jack looks a bit different, but everyone says it will work.

i repeat, any miniusb cable will work.
