notification LEDS? insomnia?

I'm considering switching to this phone from a 6700. A couple of the most annoying "features" of my 6700 is the LED behavior and the fact that it likes to wake up at random by itself.

Could somebody describe what LEDs are available on the phone and what they are used for? i.e. what does it look like when you get a notification and the phone goes back to sleep before you get to it?

Has anybody had issues with the phone waking up just to wake up? I expect the phone to wake for something like an incoming call or alarm, but my 6700 likes to wake up even if it has nothing to say.

i can speak as i have the diamond and now the PRO. i am coming form a 6800-6700-660-hitachi G- well , you get the point..

the only "lghts" on the diamond/pro is the circular navi button at the bottom of the phone. this has around the outer part of the circle, a thincircular light that "glows" depending on if you have received a message, missed call, when its charging, etc. there are no LED lights to annoy or brighted up the room when your trying to sleep. i have also not seen the phone "wake up" as the phones of yesteryear do (6800, 6700, etc) so you will be pleased about the lack of LED lights on this device...

That's good to hear.

I saw a video of the LED ring. I take it that it adopts different flash patterns depending on what the phone wants to let you know? Can it flash both "charging" and "I have a missed call"? I know the 6700 can't since the charge and missed call LED are physically the same one.

I know what you mean about the LED flash brightening up the room. It is amazingly bright in a dark room. I usually just put the phone face-down I need to have it in the bedroom.

yeah "led ring" sounds better than what i was saying to describe it! lol

yeah it does different "light dances" depending on the mood, but you see one or the other... once you, say, notice the missed call or have cleared it, then the mode goes back to charging or whatever the other mode is...
