I'm digging my phone, but sucks having to use it to 'talk' to someone on it. My wife has been complaining that I either talk too loud or soft - and I didn't notice this before, but I can't hear myself on the phone. I used to before with the 6700, or when I use a landline phone, but not with the Touch Diamond.
Is this common? is there a tweak I can enable to 'hear' myself bark and rant about my wife's credit bill??
thanks for inquring fellas - not so much as an 'echo', but when you're listening to the speaker, you can also hear yourself talk as well from the handset receiver.
as for 'echo', maybe that's what I was hearing before in the olden days? I wouldn't mind that feature as I can't even hear myself. I can only hear the person talking, but it'd be nice to hear myself talk so I can ascertain how loud or soft I'm talking.
going deaf sucks! can't wait for video calls to be more commonplace - you can use sign language!
Azrael,
Unfortunately I believe you are referring to the echo. Drives most of insane! I hang up and recall whenever I get it. Unfortunately I've never heard of a way to stop it from happening much less make it happen. This is thought of as a glitch in the cell system.
For some even worse new I haven't ever had this phenomenon on the diamond. It has had great call quality so it may have been resolved.

No, I get what you're saying. It's not echo; it's that regular handsets convey your voice through the receiver so that you hear your voice both through the phone (through your covered ear) and through the air (your uncovered ear). I never had a cell phone that did this. Perhaps using the speakerphone function of the phone would work? Your ears would not be occluded, so it would be much the same as talking to someone in the same room.
