Found a solution to my button problems
I ordered a replacement Diamond last week, because I was experiencing lots of problems with the buttons not responding to my presses. I've written about this in a few other threads, and have found other users with this same issue. The problem seems to be related to the underlying use of the capacitive buttons not detecting my finger location properly. I didn't think replacing the phone would accomplish much, because I was convinced it was a software issue.
Well the good news is that my replacement Diamond came yesterday & the buttons respond perfectly, so it's not a software problem. The bad news is that there's a spec of dust on the left side of the screen that can't be removed. I'm almost certain it's underneath the screen. It drives me nuts that it's there and that I can't remove it, so I requested another replacement. Am I being too OCD?
My cynical side thinks that the 3rd replacement will have the button problems again, or perhaps one of the other problems I've read about, such as the yellow screen problem, or the bluetooth problem.
Anyway the main point of this thread is to let you know that if you're having button issues, you should try an exchange.
