Hi everyone. I'm new around here and this is my first Windows Mobile device.
I was just wondering if anyone knows of an application that will allow me to sync my Yahoo contacts and calendar with my Sprint Diamond. A quick search in this forum did not turn up anything.
I tried to download and install Yahoo's Go application for WM6, but it appears to not be compatible with the Diamond (perhaps the screen resolution is wrong since it scrambles by screen).
Actually, I'd prefer to continue to use the contact manager and calendar feature that's built into the phone, but I just want it to automatically sync with Yahoo.
Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot and I look forward to learning a lot more about this device from all of you!!
The only way I can think of is to use the Yahoo Go app, but you're saying that it isn't compatible with your screen... hmmm... aside from that I'm not aware of any sync technology that allows you to directly sync with Yahoo contacts, calendar, and email for free. If you're willing to pay, I know you can use Plaxo to sync your Yahoo calendar & contact info with your mobile device. In a way, they are a proxy between WM devices & Yahoo.
we had issues wit the 3 version on the mougl and a lot of us went back to 2.0. yahoo even admitted there were some things wrong in it. im going to install 2.0 on here and see if it works.
can you tell me exactly what you want to achieve so i know what to look out for?
I am not sure if the Diamond is different in how it sync's up with your PC, but here is how I do it for the Mogul:
1) Make sure you have Outlook installed on your PC.
2) Install Yahoo Sync on your PC - Log in to your Yahoo account, go to Calendar, then click the "Sync" link in the upper right of the screen (see screenshot attached below)
3) Sync your Yahoo to your Outlook
4) Sync your Outlook to your PDA
can you tell me exactly what you want to achieve so i know what to look out for?
Well, for me, the ultimate goal is to have the contact manager and calendar functions on the Diamond synchronize directly with Yahoo. Sort of like the way I can get my Yahoo e-mail fed seamlessly directly into the e-mail on the device.
I'd really prefer to avoid having to sync the device to a PC. This just seems like an unnecessary step.
Finally, I'd like to avoid adding a 3rd party application (like Go) if possible. I don't want to suck up the internal storage with another calendar function and contact manager when I already have each of these applications already in the device. Since I can't add a larger SD card, I want to be careful about adding applications that I don't absolutely need.
But if unavoidable, I'll use Go until I can figure something else out.
Thanks for your help. I really appreciate the effort.
I can check our Plaxo. It appears to be a free application now, or at least the sign-up is free but maybe they suck the credit card from you later. I guess I'll dive in and see how it goes.
