BLACK BAR at lower 3rd of the screen...

OK, i have not read thru the manual so i hope this is a setting im overlooking...

there is a black bar at the lower 3rd of the screen. sometimes it will have something in it, like if i hit the home button to go to the home screen, it will say "phone" in the bar.. is this a glitch, bug or some "feature"?

another example, if i go to the mailbox tab, it will say "inbox" in this bar. it does not go away. i may have done something but i dont know...

i miss my keyboard... waaaaahhhh..

any help is appreciated....

ok upon a soft reset (im still installing stuff and had not done a soft reset after this bar appeared) the bar im talking about is the bottom bar that has "phone" and "programs" on either side. so it sems it must have been a glitch. anyone have this happen to them? ill see if i can try to recreate it but would appreciate any feedback...

Marc, I've never had that happen to me. That black bar should always display 2 softkeys & will differ depending on the 3D icon you've chosen.

One thing I would suggest, is going really light on what you install the first few days until you've gotten used to it. It makes it easier when problems arise & you're looking for a 3rd party app to blame. I only bring this up, because I think there's a greater potential for program incompatibility with this phone because of all the 3D & Touchflo stuff that's built in.

that is a excellent idea 8!

normally, even on the mogul, i didnt install any crazy stuff. when this bar happened i had not installed anything. a soft reset has fixed it and it has not messed up again but i have not done anything to it.

so far i have resco registry and explorer, resco photo viewer pro, pocket mechanic, memmaid.

also so far i have moved opera and IE folders to internal storage (IS) as well as the documents, music and photo folder is IS. opened up a few meg on the mem bar...

LOL I hear ya man... It was REALLY tough for me to go from the Mogul to the Touch for that very reason. On the Touch, I don't think I ever did totally get past it, but on this one the OSK is much easier to use. If you're brain can think in T9, you might try the Phone Keypad SIP. That's the one I finally settled on. Regardless you will be hating life for at least 3-4 weeks.

Until his Pro gets in. Love to here a comparison between the two. Not that is matters much to me, I really need a keyboard. Heck, I'm banging away at an old 6700 cause I wanted a real upgrade.
