Diamond switches from EV to 1X Networks

I just got mine this week and noticed that all the places that I normally connected to EVDO with my Mogul the Diamond starts out at EVDO but when it connects it goes to 1X and the internet is very slow on the phone compared to my Mogul. Has anyone else seen this problem???

I have not noticed the EVDO switching to 1x phenomena, but web browsing does not seem super fast to me in Opera. It's about the same in PIE.

I've read reports of people having connection issues to the point where they are exchanging the Diamond for a new one.

Have you tried going to Settings > System > Update PRL and Update Profile? I had to do this to get things working properly after I did the initial programming with customer service.

its possible there is a local issue in your area/region. if it persists, you may have to exchange the phone...

Yes I tried the PRL update and it said that there was no new updates available. Its just strange that my Mogul worked fine and did not have this problem.

Just got off the phone with sprint. After a couple of keystrokes and updating my phone profile all is well and phone is fixed. That was the best tech support I have had in a long time. Thanks Sprint!!!

you know how when you update the rom on your phone and the first time you go on the internet it tells you that it is updating. I'm not sure exactly what it says but they forced that through manually. I think when I first set up my phone I did not have a very good signal and it did not set up correctly

It happens alot with certain phones.
My Moto Q is perpetually on 1x so much so I quit "updating" profile long ago.
