Had mine for just over the 30 day period. Kept it after a test of PDA functions worked.
Likes (some comments more WM specific)
-multitasking, especially browsing is awesome for news/mobile sites. I keep 3 browsers open simultaneously and can have two downloading at any one time, while reading the third on a great screen. I do it on desktops all the time and its even more useful when signal is flakey. I generally never wait this way and have fresh content served up.
-Form factor. The i500 was a tough act to follow. I've dropped the Diamond once onto cement. So far, so good. Its not obtrusive going sideways in a pocket. light.
-multi-tasking. I'm coming from
Palm so some of my comments support WM, in general.
-I'm convinced reception is still more a vender issue than a hardware issue. No complaints
-PDA functions are a net gain with greater notes memory, Outlook access, superior contacts details.
dislikes
-buttons could be more tactile, don't like system and phone volume defaulting together because the phone makes noise when quieting itself down and touching the ring tab is a pain.
-There should be no message that can't be cleared by hitting home, or hang-up. The phone is "touchy" in the sence it can put you in a corn maze fairly easily.
-slow. this is not the unit to reach for while driving because you remembered an extra item for that list, etc. The WM GUI and phone itself are a kludge pile for the impatient. The simple notes app makes you wait on the rainbow pie before it opens. Why?
-The phone as PDA, in general, leaves me wanting for effectiveness, not capacity.
-BIGGIE. Got the "...requires you to resyncronize all items..." message a few times already. Success at resyncing after unchecking email sync and dumping a notes sub-folder, but I can tell why PPC isn't popularly supported by business users/firms. syncing has been flakey, seems there's no option to control when a sync ocurrs. On the web the "resyncronize" problem is a cluster among clusters of seemingly unsolved WM issues.
-I may yet go Blackberry Storm, as it can surf the web just as well and appears to be a better PDA. I'm not a heavy app user, like I guess most in this thread are.
