Marc,

It is an application that will not work with the diamond. It works on my wife's LG musiq. From what I have read in the past. All sprint Pocket PC and smart phones are not compatible with this application. I also did the text to 7777 NFL and received the download. Then when I tried to run the app. It said something to the effect that we are sorry to inform you that your phone is not compatible at this time. If you would like to have us send a text when it becomes available please check the box. Did that and then it gives an alert saying that your Pocket PC cannot receive text alerts from Sprint.

I just received a new Diamond last week. Actually I was out of town and my co-worker received it. He loaded it up to try it out to make sure i'd like it before he gave it to me. It's a replacement for my 700WX Treo.
Just before he gave it to me he did a hard reset so I could load my stuff on it. When I got it on Thursday I started putting some of my software on it. Couldn't figure out where this 4 gb of memory was.

Turns out that when he did a hard reset, the SD card is now unrecognizable and I only have the internal memory!!! So Sprint is getting me a brand new Diamond and I should get it on Monday. Doesn't look good right now for the Diamond. The co-worker has a Mogul, so if this doesn't work, I might trade him for that. I like the 8gb of SD memory he has.
It's a nice small phone that does a lot of stuff that I use it for, and a lot of stuff I could care less about.

Will see when I get Diamond II on Monday.

lolol hysterical.

Thank you guys for the responses.

I know theres a mini-usb to 3.5 adaptor.
Alot of players push one end or another of the spectrum too much so needed an EQ before Id consider it an MP3 replacement.

Not too Shabby

I just got my Diamond since employees had to wait....again! Anyway, it is not too bad. It takes a bit of getting use to coming from the Touch. I think it fits better in my hand and has more fluent features. I have noticed that it's slower but I do like the overall form factor alot better. If the "brain trust" would have only included external memory card capability this would probably put this phone over the top. I'm not really interested in the physical keyboard of the Pro but nonetheless, I'll probably opt for it once it comes out pending it being much thicker.

Recieved my Diamond on Thursday. I am very impressed so far. Almost didn't get it based on some comments I read. Some of them are probably very valid based on previous phone and others particular experience but not in my case, for example: I read that reception was poor. The reception for me is much better than the Mogul at my location. I can now stream internet radio at work without the phone losing the signal after about 5-10 min of play. I may lose the signal once every 2 hours now. Telephone calls are clearer and louder. Battery life great for now but something odd has happend twice at work. I had a rapid battery drain although the phone was plugged to the charger while streaming music. Will have to monitor that. Could have to do with my work location requiring the phone to roam. Love the graphics. Can now read comics online during my breaks. Lack of buttons are no problem for me. The most important button for me is the one that activates Voice command. I didn't even realize it came with it already installed. Had it on the i760 and this one works just as well. Had to purchase Voice Command seperately for the Mogul...it was a waste of money. Was a little concerned about the limited 4GM internal storage but I actually have all the memory I need for all my music with plenty of space memaining. So far only problem is the sensitivity of the screen. Not as responsive as I would like but I can live with it for now. I loved the i760, hated the Mogul. I'm in love again with this one.

Guess I need to change my avatar.

Had mine for just over the 30 day period. Kept it after a test of PDA functions worked.

Likes (some comments more WM specific)
-multitasking, especially browsing is awesome for news/mobile sites. I keep 3 browsers open simultaneously and can have two downloading at any one time, while reading the third on a great screen. I do it on desktops all the time and its even more useful when signal is flakey. I generally never wait this way and have fresh content served up.
-Form factor. The i500 was a tough act to follow. I've dropped the Diamond once onto cement. So far, so good. Its not obtrusive going sideways in a pocket. light.
-multi-tasking. I'm coming from Palm so some of my comments support WM, in general.
-I'm convinced reception is still more a vender issue than a hardware issue. No complaints
-PDA functions are a net gain with greater notes memory, Outlook access, superior contacts details.

dislikes
-buttons could be more tactile, don't like system and phone volume defaulting together because the phone makes noise when quieting itself down and touching the ring tab is a pain.
-There should be no message that can't be cleared by hitting home, or hang-up. The phone is "touchy" in the sence it can put you in a corn maze fairly easily.
-slow. this is not the unit to reach for while driving because you remembered an extra item for that list, etc. The WM GUI and phone itself are a kludge pile for the impatient. The simple notes app makes you wait on the rainbow pie before it opens. Why?
-The phone as PDA, in general, leaves me wanting for effectiveness, not capacity.
-BIGGIE. Got the "...requires you to resyncronize all items..." message a few times already. Success at resyncing after unchecking email sync and dumping a notes sub-folder, but I can tell why PPC isn't popularly supported by business users/firms. syncing has been flakey, seems there's no option to control when a sync ocurrs. On the web the "resyncronize" problem is a cluster among clusters of seemingly unsolved WM issues.
-I may yet go Blackberry Storm, as it can surf the web just as well and appears to be a better PDA. I'm not a heavy app user, like I guess most in this thread are.
