Diamond Tips and Tricks READ 1st POST BEFORE POSTING TO THIS THREAD!!

Couple of things to keep in mind BEFORE posting to this thread:

1. This thread is for solutions/tips/tricks ONLY!! It is NOT for asking random questions or troubleshooting technical problems with your Diamond. If you are contributing a tip/trick, please try to include a link to the thread (where applicable) that is discussing that particular topic.

2. If you have a question regarding a hack/tip/trick posted in this thread, do not post it here. All the hacks/tips/tricks posted in this thread should have their own dedicated threads in the forum so you should locate that thread and post to it. If you search and cannot find it, start a new thread.

3. If you have an unrelated, specific issue you need resolved, you should search the forum for a relevant thread and post in that thread. If you cannot find one, then start a new thread. If you post a problem to this thread asking for troubleshooting assistance, we will delete it without notice. This thread is ONLY for posting Diamond tips and tricks that you feel other people will find useful, nothing more.

4. AGAIN, this thread is NOT for asking questions of ANY type! It is simply for people to post tips and tricks about the Diamond. If you post a question or respond to someone who posted a question, YOUR POST WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT NOTICE! These strict rules are necessary in order to keep this thread readable for others.

5. If someone posts a tip/trick that is not correct, feel free to post a correction. We will subsequently edit the post in question to reflect the correction (We will try our best to give you credit) and then remove your post so that all information on that particular tip/trick is kept together in a single post.

lets try to refrain from blindly posting links to other forums as well. its ok to source the forum but take the time to post the hack and then reference to it if need be.

Add Scroll Wheel Functionality in Some Programs

Found the way to enable scrolling here:

I set up scrolling for the built in Contacts and Total Commander to test it out using MSContactsUI and CECMD as the respective classnames values. Kind of a hassle, but still kind of neat.

Actually, Schaps Advanced Configuration tool has presets for SmartTouch as well as a user friendly way of managing these mappings.

Take a Geo Tagged Picture
Reg Edit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P10 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1

When In camera click the Mode button, then click GPS Capture. It will save in newly created folder "MY POI" not the "My Pictures" folder.

Internal storage does survive a hard reset when done via the Volume + Enter + Power Key combo. If you use the Clear Storage utility found in Settings > Clear Storage, you will have additional options for clearing storage, internal storage, or a combination of both.

There's a cab on xda that extends the usb connect dialog to include ICS

[APP] Improved HTC USBToPC PopUp

I had to modify the registry to get it to work (defaults to Phone as Modem for the connection):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings]
"ForceCellConnection"="Sprint"

Nothing new really, but nicely integrated.

Performing a hard reset

Hard reset is also done by holding the volume down, enter button and the top power button at the same time.

Press and hold the talk button and ask "what is the battery level" or what is the signal strength". Pretty cool.

Increase Touchflo Performance

I did the following registry hacks that I found over at XDA for increasing Touchflo 3D performance. They are modified slightly to reflect the CDMA version.

1.) HKLM\System\Storagemanager\Fatfs and changed key Cachesize from 0 to 32768

2.) HKLM\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\limit and changed it from 8192 to 16384

Much zippier overall.
