Touch Diamond

Since there isn't a section for it yet, anyone have an idea what sprint's pricing will be on the diamond? somehow I got suckered into getting an instinct as a replacement for my ppc 6700, and lets just say it didn't take 30 days for me to figure out that was a mistake. I can go back in and get the current touch, but if the diamond wont be too expensive i might wait for it.

From what I found it would be $599.99/$349.99 after $100 MIR. That information is in the same document that says it will be out 9.2.2008. I definitely wouldn't keep the instinct. Nice phone for the loot, but it doesn't hold a candle to what the Touch/Diamond can do. If your eyesight is extremlely poor, I suppose the Instinct would be the way to go since it has a bigger screen, but beyond that...no way.

Damn, thats too high. I was hoping it would be a $499 / $199 after all deals. Well, I can hope you are wrong otherwise i'd rather just get a current model touch even if the interface isnt quite as cool

I'm thinking that the price may break out a little differently based on the less than expected price of the iPhone 3G.

I'd guess that the suits are thinking real hard about it.

The Touch Diamond is supposed to be out Sep. 2 according to this website: HTC Touch Diamond Phone

But I would rather wait for the Touch Pro, which will be called the Touch Herman, and apparently the Touch Diamond will be called the Touch Victor by Sprint. The Touch Diamond name will be used by Verizon. Go figure!

Also, the Sprint version will be better than the Verizon version...

Well, other sources put it as out on Aug 18. That is Best Buy and Radio Shack's street date for it as a Sprint phone, but that could be wrong

I just looked out on our document repository and it will not be released until 10/19/2008. They pushed it back to the same date as the Pro (which, btw they are still calling the Raphael). The Diamond had a Lab entrance date of 5/26 and an exit date of 8/11. The Pro had a entrance date of 6/30 and will be exiting the lab on 9/8. Don't know why they are being pushed back but it is what the documentation is stating.

These are going to be two PHENOMENAL handsets! I can't wait till they drop. I plan on getting both the day they come out if they don't block employees from getting them like they did with the Instinct. I really didn't care about that b/c compared to the Touch it isn't offering much. But if they lock us out of these....I will really be heartbroken.
