Hi, I own both a 6945 and a 6515. They are both 240 x 240 screens. I can tell you from actual every day use and ownership that the 240 x 240 resolution is NOT a problem AS LONG AS YOU DON'T HAVE A LOT OF OLD PROGRAMS THAT HAVEN'T BEEN UPDATED OR OLD GAMES! Most programs have been updated to deal with 240 x 240 screen but, again, if the software developer for the specific program you are planning to use is slow, lazy or just doesn't care, you might have a problem with the very bottom of the screen being cut off.
If you have a specific set of programs you want to use on your 6945, go to the software maker's website and see if they've updated the software to be compatible with square screens. Most have but some have dragged their feet about it and those guys are typically the PPC game makers. If you're not a huge PPC game player or plan on using really old programs, then you will be fine.
