will it take a charge? what happens when you plug it in to your wall charger?

Take out the battery and leave it be for a while. Put the battery back in and then CHARGE IT overnight (8 hours). Is it charging? Is the light on the front that indicates charging on? If not, you may have a faulty battery. Call up whomever you purchased the device from and get help from them.

If the charge light turns red when you plug it in or cradle it, taking the battery out of the device and replacing it may solve the problem. If not, try what FallN has suggested. You may need to send it to HP to have them check it out. The device is always supposed to take a charge.
