Updating Bluetooth Divers:
***************************
For Starters, you may experience problems with Bluetooth not working properly, errors like
device not found, but basically if your Bluetooth device doesn't work there is some
mysterious Microsoft Magic that is associated with Service Pack 2's Bluetooth Stack, and
somewhere that is related to Plug-N-Play. I searched the ends of the Ether for a solid,
believable explanation, and none was found. What I did find is the following, and since I
Did each of steps NUMEROUS times, they are viable solutions.
So, if Bluetooth just isn't functioning properly the quick fix is to update your Bluetooth
devices drivers. Go into Control Panel>Add Hardware>
>Next
>Select "Yes, I have already connected the hardware
>Next
>Select your Bluetooth Device
>Next
>Follow steps to locate the updated driver file, should be "bth.inf" but definitely
a *.inf file
>Finish
Now try to connect using Bluetooth, you should be good to go. However, if you still
experience errors/failures go to Control Panel>Phone and Modems Options;
1. Select "Modems" tab
2. Select your Bluetooth Modem, click "Properties"
3. Click "Diagnostics" tab
4. Click "Query Modem" button
5. If Modem responds then check other Bluetooth settings for COM port conflicts,
etc.
Basicaly if the modem responds to the Querry it should be working and there is some setup
problem I haven't covered here. Alternatively, if you can't figure out what is afoul you
can go on to next section, or if Querry fails, procede to next section,
"Removing Bluetooth Device."

Removing Bluetooth Device:
***************************
Found at;

(I've edited/added to Jonsguied instructions for clarity)
The Widcomm drivers (Widcomm being the predominent Bluetooth vendor/OEM on which most
Bluetooth devices are based) should have a normal add/remove option in the control panel,
regardless of who supplied them. If your installation has become damaged, and for some
reason you cannot use the normal uninstallation method, the details below should help you
remove the Widcomm drivers from your system.
If Add/Remove fails to remove Bluetooth do the following;
The procedure
1. Make a back-up of your system registry
2. Run "regsvr32 -u BtNeighborhood.dll"
3. Run "btstackserver.exe /unregserver" (this return "not found" message, continue)
4. Run regedit and delete the WIDCOMM key from
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\ delete WIDCOMM and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software delete WIDCOMM and WIDCOM_TEMP if present
5. Go to C:\Program Files, delete Widcomm folder (if you file in use, reboot, then
delete)
6. REBOOT
7. Delete "bt*.dll", "btcpl.cpl", and "bt*.manifest" from your system32 folder;
C:\WINDOWS\system32
(this may vary depending on which version of Windows you are using)
8. Empty Recycle Bin
After completing these steps Bluetooth is deleted, however, the Bluetooth may still appear
in Control Panel>Add/Remove options. To remove from Add/Remove do the following;
Got to;
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
In Uninstall folder you'll see numerous software keys, these are cryptic, you must select
each one on the left tree and look in the right pane at "Display Name." Right click and
delete the software key with corresponding Display name "Bluetooth [some OEM]."
Go to;
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\installer\products\
Same as above, cryptic products keys in the left side tree, only here you're looking for
"Product Name" in the right side pane, delete product key corresponding to Bluetooth [by
some OEM].
Last, this step is listed in some fixes for Bluetooth problems, my installation didn't
have anything matching this this step but check anyway;
If you have msconfig do this:
Run "msconfig" --> go to "startup" column -->unclick "rundll32.exe bthprops.cpl....."
If you dont have that app like I didnt, go to the Registry, and stop that entry from being
loaded. Be careful, this isnt an every day operation, and you can permanently damage your
Op system`s current setup. To get this done, run regedit from the RUN option, or from the
Command Line. also check here for anything like "rundll32.exe bthprops.cpl......"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and delete the entry there.
>>>NOW, REINSTALL BLUETOOTH DEVICE SOFTWARE<<<

Setting up Bluetooth Dialup Network (DUN) for iPaq 6515 for CINGULAR Wireless:
******************************************************************************
1. Setup a Dialup Networking connection (can be done from Control Panel>Network Connection or
from "My Bluetooth Places")
2. Select the Bluetooth Modem
3. Username, all caps: ISP.CinGULAR
4. Password, all caps: CINGULAR1
5. Number: *99#
In Control panel you'll need to add an "init string" for Bluetooth modem. Go to;
Control Panel>Phone and Modem Options
1. Select "Modems" tab
2. Select your Bluetooth Modem, click "Properties"
3. Click "Advanced" tab
4. Enter the following init string exactly; AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","ISP.CINGULAR"

This should allow you to establish a dialup Internet connection with the Cingular
GPRS/Edge network, and it will allow you to establish a VPN connection to your work network
or wherever.
