OMAPCLOCK - overclock software

Hey guys, what's the safe speed you can run with OMAPCLOCK? Mine unit runs 180MHZ with the extra capacity battery, but only 174MHZ with the standard battery. The reason being once I overclock HP6315, the battery power shown in the meter fluctuants, and it'd go down to zero which caused the unit to shut down.

The unit runs amazingly fast at 186MHZ, but once I turn off the unit, it won't come back up. It will go through a soft reset afterwards. Any speed higher than 186MHZ will just lock my unit right up.

Tom.

Thanks for the software info. I tried overclocking the 6315 and I went all the way to 204 MHz but above it, it crashed. I also brought my phone to the lowest frequency which is 60 MHz just to see how it will operate and it reset my phone after few moment. However, when I was running the frequency at 186 MHz, my battery indicator showed it go full and empty in a very short interval. Then it gave me a message saying I should buy a new battery. Then I realized the potential of damaging my device so I brought it back down to 168 MHz (the original clock speed). But for sometime, my battery indicator won't work and if does work, it works for only few seconds and starts to show me the battery as full even though it is empty. Now my question is that my battery is two years old and I thought maybe since overclocking requires a lot of battery power, I may need a new battery. Would anyone recommend buying a new battery?
