sorry for noobish question, but?
after many years on the market this whole bluetooth thing is soo frustrating...
I am trying to find good headset for my iPAQ 6325.
I absolutely have to know who is calling, so I got MS Voice Command wich is announcing incoming call.
First headset I got (Sony HBH-610a) was not working with official bluetooth stack. After many manipulations and hard resets I upgraded my BT to 1.6 and was able to make HBH610 working but was not happy with it (could not hear much it was soo soft). I returned it and got SACALA 500.
I took it because it is coming with eye glasses clip (which turned out to be a joke- little plastic thingy would not last a few days).
Anyway, it worked nice even with official bluetooth stack (1.0.0.3701) but MS voice command never announce tha call!
Instead, I hear crappy scala ringtone and voice command speaks to internal speaker!
must say headset works fine- clear sound and everyone seems to hear me nicely.
Upgraded bluetooth stack to 1.6 - headset now works just like I wanted it to: MS voice command announces the call, no headset ringtone but after about a minute headset swithces off by itself and everything goes to internal speaker!
my question is - how to change the way bluetooth headset works?
may be registry hack or something?
I am ready to cry, been messing around with it for a week already...
my first expirience with bluetooth and I am computer systems engineer!
I wonder how regular people trying to get it working? poor creatures...
May be MS Voice Command is not compatible with h63xx.
Try uninstall it, see how your bluetooth headset works.
I don't use MS Voice Command and my bluetooth headset works as the way it should.
Please check the following :
iPAQ wireless > bluetooth manager > Tab & hold Hands-free connection to BTHS > Hands-free setting > check only Telephone calls
If your using standard audio, all sound goes to headset.
If your using standard audio, all sound goes to headset.
thats where the problem is.
the thing is I am getting all sounds in BTHeadset EXCEPT ringtone!
and I really do want ALL sound to go to bluetooth,
including ringtone...
found this software wich does exactly what I want - http://www.jetwaremobile.com/
but it is incompatible with iPAQ 63XX
I used both Motorola and Logitech BT headsets with my 6315 and they worked fine. To get the dialing sounds to come through the headset, you need to have standard audtio selected for BT otherwise all you will get is the audio from a phone call.
I am not sure I understand what ringtones you mean. Are you trying to hear the ringing of the phone you are calling or are you trying to hear your own ringtone when someone calls you? You should be able to hear the ringing of the number you are trying to call.
You will not hear the ringtone set on the phone when you receive a call. Usually the BT headset has its own sound for incoming calls and that is what you hear through the headset. If you have a ringtone set, it will play through the device's speaker. This is by design so that if you set the phone to silent/vibrate mode, the BT headset will still issue its own ring sound when an incoming call comes in.
i have used several bluetooth headset with H6315 and each one has its personality... Both Sony & Scala are bad from my experience and Motorola is pretty good... My ringtone works fine through the Moto H300 headset
I have 2 Omiz headsets, I get all the sound from either just fine if I set the BT Headset settings properly. I have MS Voice Command installed. I can also get the sounds to run outside the headset if I need to.
BTW Wanted to ask. My Bluetooth stack seems to be v1.2 at the moment. You mentioned you got it up to v1.6, how did you do that? Also, can you hear music with good quality over your headset? I have a stereo headset I wanted to use for music but the quality is so bad.
Voice Command 1.6 incoming caller ID announce over Bluetooth headset currently only works properly on the T-mobile dash. The Dash has the MS BT stack as well as Windows Mobile 5 AKU3+. Future devices that use the MS BT stack and have AKU3+ OS will also support this feature.
