Software-based voicemail?

Does there exist a software which allows my 6315 to answer a call for me with a preset recording or something?

Kind of like a voice mail? but without the actual mail part that records what the other guy has to say, and is software based in my phone?

OR if it does record it, I guess it should be stored somewhere on the phone rihgt? anyway, that's not the important part.

Software-based voicemail would be awesome when you think about it. Bob calls, gets your voicemail "Please leave message after beep". Then Jim calls, gets your voicemail "Hey Jim, we're all going out tonight, dont tell Bob, leave a message".

Obviously you wouldnt have to use it to be an *******. For instance, you could have a voicemail saying where you were and what you were doing, and set it to only let your family or significant other get that one, then for everyone else who doesnt really need to know where you are and what you are doing, they could just go to the standard voicemail.

I've seen this question asked from time to time and I, too, would like to have this feature on my phone. I had two phones in the past - not PDA phones, just regular cell phones - that had a built-in voice mail application. You could even screen the calls if you wanted to. I don't know why this isn't available for PDA phones.

Yes, my service does come with voice mail, but it can be a pain to use. I can't supress the automated voice and I would use less air time just letting my phone answer the call than I would to call from my mobile phone and check the message. The caller has to listen to an automated voice telling them to press a button or just wait!?! Do you know anyone who uses a phone and doesn't know how to leave a message? It's kind of silly, don't you think?
