h6300 Series Language Modifications

As many of you have requested, and Barrr has grown ill of your requests....

Seriously, Barrr has taken the initiative to modify the files so those users who would like a different language on their device can do so.

So please look over the instructions, and if you have any questions....bug him not me! just kidding....Ask anyone on this forum...as there is, like I always say, an abundant wealth of knowledge here.

http://www.lvlolvlo.net/PDA/LanguagePacks.htm

Enjoy...

Language change

Hi,

the page with all the chaged files is great guys. thanks so much for providing all this. I just have one question to make sure I'll do the right thing. I have a german IPAQ want to switch it to english. Do i have to download the Modified file now from the english row and also the update from the english HP site, or the ones in the german row?

hope to hear from somebody.

Thanks
BJ

You have to download the nodified HPRUU file from the English row as well as the English Setup from the HP site using the link in the same row. Then you extract the files from the original English setup but after that you Cancel the installation and overwrite the original HPRUU.EXE file with the modified one. Now, set your iPAQ into bootloader mode and run the modified HPRUU.

Good Luck.

Yes beaups, LVL did nothing. He just designed the page, put in the links, stored the modified HPRUU's on his FTP and put the time and effort to write all the instructions so that anyone could read and understand.
Absolutely nothing
Cheers LVL.

Sebekbak. This is not a file but an entire operating system operating in Polish. I'm afraid the only ones who can do it are HP.

Hi
I am not familiar with it, therefore please help me a little
I have my pocket 6340 in GER 1.00.14 and want in ENG
then firstly I download SP30019 (which is version 1.10 for German) from HP yes?
secondly I download hpRUUSP30391.exe (which is modified file for English)from the site of lvlolvlo

then I use Winrar to execute SP30019 and I change hpRUU.exe to hpRUU.exe.bak
and I copy there hpRUUSP30391.exe and change the name to hpRUU.exe

And then I have to make my pocket to BL MODE
and execute hpRUU.exe (tell me if I have to use the Activesync in this moment)
and after flashing
I HAVE TO RESET MY POCKET OR NOT!!!
becasue I read that (I am not sure) I have to becasue if not I could have problem with my START MENU

And the most Important can I use to do it USB Cable 2in1 I mean Cable which makes possible to synchronizing and charging my Pocket??????? !!!!!!
regards Jurek
please answear ASAP

Dear Jurek

First I'll say: NO !!! First you download SP30391 for English from the HP site and open it. It will self extract and then you Cancel the installation.
Then you can switch HPRUU with the modified one hpRUUSP30391.exe and change the name.
Then you go into BL mode, quickly connect to your cable and quickly run HPRUU.
Good Luck.

Jurek

1. The FLASH process will reset your iPAQ and you don't have to worry. It will also erase all your programs and information. In fact it's like a Hard Reset but it will upgrade your ROM version as well.

Make sure you DO NOT RESTORE programs after this process. Install everything again from scratch. Make sure you have all your passwords and license information.

Before the FLASH make sure you sync all PIM with your desktop computer. To get your PIM (Contacts, Tasks, etc...) back after FLASH just re-establish partnership with your desktop computer and sync.

2. Yes you can use this cable.

because as I said my knowledge is very little within IPAQ-s
Where I can find passwords and license information (version German) becasue as I said I bought ipaq yesterday and my knowledge is very poor.
I have only a sticker on the rear and it is poorly visible
and I cant read the number
Could I read it from software (I mean from windows)

Jurek

You don't need anything to FLASH the English ROM to your 6340. You are ready to do it.

If you have any other programs that you have installed you will have to install them again after the FLASH. That's why you'll need the licenses, for the other software you installed.
If you have not installed anything and you have a new 6340 just FLASH it with the English ROM and don't worry about anything.
