I am not sure if I had this with the unofficial 1.10.08 ROM on my 6365 but every so often the SD Storage Card just disappears. If I open file manager I can't see the storage card (nor does it appear if I browse via the PC and the ActiveSync connection). The only way to recover it is to do a soft reset. I don't know the sequence of events (such as the number of times it is switched off and on etc) but it seems to be every couple of days or so the SD card can't be accessed. Not a major problem but annoying all the same as I have TomTom Navigator and when the card 'disappears' it looses the map.
Has anyone else seen this? The SD card just says 'Kingston Technology' and Made in Japan?

The SD will appear.
Eh? I don't quite understand what you are saying there?
I can get it back by doing a soft reset but this is hardly a solution. If I eject the card and re-insert it doesn't appear, the only way it will re-appear is after a soft reset.
I have this problem every once in a while too. Soft reset fixes it, but ejecting/reinserting the card does nothing. Same symptoms exactly. What software do you have installed? All I have is:
Microsoft Pocket Streets
Microsoft Money 2005
HTTPMail Provider
I'm using the 1.11.10 ROM right now that I installed a few days ago and it hasnt happened yet although I'm sure it will soon.
I have TomTom Navigator with the Map on the SD card, plus Pocket Streets 2005 and a couple of maps on the SD card. Other than that the 256MB SD card is empty.
Once it happens even if I change the SD card it still won't recognise it until I do a soft reset. I generally leave the SD card in all the time, should it be left in?
I have had this issue as well. Using SPB Plus the storage card will sometimes disapear from the Today plugin and the file explorer will not find it. I have found the just giving it a gentle press, not enough to eject it, will allow it to be seen by the OS. My guess it is some internal contact that determines if it is there or not.
On another note... I have noticed that if you write to the card using some other media... such as a camera or a usb-sd card writer it will not see the files untill after a reset.
I doubt that helps.. but I figured I would share my experience

Well I had two interesting problems with storage cards quite some time ago. For one, my storage card would disappear, and second...things would start deleting themselves off my storage card.
So now what turned out to be the problem for me? Well it was the use of Today Themes. I used various today themes and that's when the problem started to occur again. Now, however, I don't use any Today themes except for the four that come pre-bundled with the 6315.
Spiral
T-Mobile default
T-MobileLite
Windows Default
Even from those four, however, I only use one of them. And that's the T-Mobile default theme.
Also as to the applications I have installed on my 6315...as follows
Soon to be installed is Adobe Acrobat Reader....but I might not, as I haven't had the need for it - and so far all the pdf's have successfully worked with ClearVUE PDF
Also, I've installed all those apps (with the exception of a couple) to my iPAQ File Store. The exceptions are:
WiFiFoFum (Installed to Storage Card)
PocketLingo (Installed to Storage Card)
psShutXP (Installed to Main Memory)
PhonePlus (Installed to Main Memory)
As a side note I'm running the h6315 unit with the HP 1.11.10 ENG ROM.
For more info on these apps or where to get them use Google, or just click away at my site:
lvlolvlo...as we found, themes stored on Storage Cards could cause a "wipe...but only if it was on the Storage Card, and the OS was PPC 2002...Microsoft resolved the bug with PPC 2003...
If this is on the latest ROM of a HP 6300 series, I suspect it is the naming of a card issue...failing that, it is a defective unit...

Apparently, removing the battery is not equivalent to a soft-reset. When my SD card disappeared, a soft reset did *not* bring it back, whereas the battery removal did.
I too have had the problem of the SD card disappearing. Ejecting/reinserting the card does not seem fix anything. I have to do a soft reset.
Also like someone said, if you put the SD card in a card reader and make any changes to the files structure (add folders, files, etc.) the changes are not seen upon reinsertion of the card. It seems as though a soft reset is neccessary.
