Presumably the second number must be the colour in the same 16-bit 565 pixel format as the image. FFFF would come out white, for example. Other colours aren't nearly as simple to work out, but I can write up a method to do it by hand if you want.

Sorry, I know nothing about that device. Online image converter has been gone for some time. Offline converter is probably still kicking about but if there's demand then I'll write a new, more intelligent online converter.

(You do realise my last post to this thread was over 3 years ago, right?)

Again, I'm afraid I know nothing of the device.

It's actually years now since I had the HTC devices that I was working with. I think replacing splash screens on those required alteration of an OS install image. If I remember correctly (which I might not) we managed to cut it down to the bare minimum components so that it would only replace the splash, but this was using HTC software. You would need a ROM upgrade for the iPaq, and then find out how to unpack/repack it. Which I know nothing about at all. I wouldn't be able to even start without an iPaq h6365, and then there may be Host OS differences - I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate.

I don't even know if the iPaq uses a 5-6-5 formatted 16-bit bitmap for splash images. If it does, and if you can unpack a ROM, you might find it: 150Kb for 320x240 or 600Kb for 640x480. I'm afraid this is all in your hands, though, and you may have to wipe the device a few times while you work it out.
