I finally sold my old AudioVox PPC4100 and bought a HP H6315 it came unlocked with the rom version 1.00.38 eng. I saw that there is 1.10.08. From my bad experience with rom update on my old pda I am afraid the the rom update will lock the phone can anyone tell me if this update will lock the phone back to t-mobile or not. Thanks a lot.
I need help with 6315 ROM updates. Several months back I got the unofficial patch from here and after the ROM update 6315 was working fine. Then I saw this new update and have been since then trying to update the 6315 with the new patch. I tried the HP. T-Mobile and also the unofficial patches
My main problem - The ROM is not updated, pda working but the phone is not working says SIm error
ROM Update problems - When I use the official patch I get an error message that Initializing error, incompatible DLL/Device
I tried the same in BL mode. But in BL mode the activesync does not sync the PDA and hence I get an error message that PDA not found.
I would be really thankful if anyone can help me to
1. Fix the phone problem and make it work
2. Guide me to update the ROM
I am a new user for h6315, I wish you could help answer my questions:
1. I just bought a h6315 from ebay, the seller told me it was unlocked. My current gsm service carrier is Cingular, so I wonder if T-mobil applications can still be used under Cingular service?
2. If I load the update ROM, does it only wipe office T-mobil applications or all HP applications?
3. If I load your Chinese Rom, which one I should choose, as you list h6315, h6365?
If I just need HP applications or open application for all gsm service, which ROm update version you will recommond.
1. The IM Client's won't work (to my knowledge) However you can use Agile Messenger.
2. If you upgrade with the official ROM then you have nothing to worry about as it will not wipe out the T-Mobile customizations. Of course all your data will be gone and you will need to synch your PDA (NO BACKUP RESTORE!)
3. Honestly...I can't remember. But since you have a 6315 I would assume you would need to go with the 6315. Just as a precaution...if you switch over to the chinese rom you are effectively turning your unit into a 6365. Meaning all the T-Mobile customizations will be wiped out.
i'm newbie in here...i have unlocked 6315 Tmo.my ROM is 00.26.01 ENG. several days ago i tried to upgrade the ROM, but after active sync rebooted my ipaq, the update process stall (after rebooting, it usually go into BL mode right?).nothing happen, and my ROM still the old one.
I got the firmware files, but I take the ipaq off the craddle so as to put it on BL mode (requirement for updating), but then, when puting the ipaq back on the craddle, it does not sync (in BL MODE).
If not synced, the updater does not find the ipaq and so on.
I have just updated my TMO 6315 with set V ROM from lvolvio, and it worked fine.
All TMO stuff was wiped out, and now I got the HP welcome screen.
HOWEVER, If I surf to SETTINGS>SYSTEM>ASSETS, I got the sysinfo saying it´s a 6315, and the part # is FA239A#ABA , which corresponds to the 6315 as well.
My ipaq is now REALLY a 6365 and the ROM gots this little identifier bug, or the set V ROM does not really transforms the ipaq to a full 6365 ?
Same here...I used the set V ROM recently and my 6315 still shows as a 6315 on the asset viewer. I think when people say it turned the 6315 INTO a 6365 it's meant software-wise and not necessarily hardware-wise. Face it, the 6315, 6325, and 6365 are exactly the same hardware (except obviously for some ROM somewhere that doesn't get overwritten) and while you don't *have* a 6365 now you have the *functional equivalent* of a 6365.
Enjoy, I think you'll find it a much better machine now.
