6315 unOfficial Patch

I ask everyone here NOT TO POST here unless you are posting a link where you have offered to host the unOfficial patch.

This way this thread stays clean with only links to the patches until T-Mobile gets their act together.

http://www.lvlolvlo.net/PDA/ROMUpdate.htm

Okay people I believe all three websites (at some point in time or other) have the instructions to Upgrade the ROM, Get the E-Mail Triggers Working, and Get the T-Mobile Today plug in to display.

So KNOCK yourself out...and if T-Mobile's looking at this (highly unlikely but still)....then you are paying your "engineers" for nothing b/c what mswlogo, beaups, dmc874, lgingell, Mashie, njbair, splintercell did you couldn't even acknowledge/attempt to do!

I tried the url mentioned above(lvlolv...), leaving the computer on all night to download the 4 1/2 hour file. Then I doubleclicked on hpRUU.exe as indicated in step 3 only to get an HP notice that that file could not be found. BUMMER! If it was ever possible to use that patch, I doubt it is now.

h6315 Official update

The update is out on T-Mobiles page. I already installed it and it seems to be working better. It is a higher firmware for bluetooth and other things then the unOfficial one. Go to http://www.t-mobile.com/hpupdate

They will be letting all customers know by the end of the week.

Congratulations to mnmbybee for getting this long awaited info out and even providing a link. I also downloaded the update with no problems. I do note that on Dialup the download took me 1:15, not the 10-15 minutes T-Mobile said it would. Perhaps they were talking about highspeed. In any case they provided detailed instructions and warnings and everything worked perfectly.

Although they explained how to backup with Activysync this has always been grayed out on my computer even when add-remove programs and following options worked OK. If you have this problem, be reminded the 6315 has the HP backup and this has always worked fine for me on a 128mb card.

Ill have to work with the 6315 now to see what improvements exist. Regretably, Bluetooth connection with the computer still does not work("Turn discovery on" goes on..then off and I get an error message. This may all be in the computer since the 6315 works perfectly with the iPhono bluetooth headphones.

In any case, thanks again to mnmbybee and pdaPhoneHome. This is the first and - so far - only news I have seen of this although I am signed up for any postings on this from other sites.

P.S.

Oh, yes..I have SPII which some say can make Bluetooth not work although it helped other features to work which were operating poorly so I am loath to let it go and so far Activesync serves all my transfer needs at home.

HP 6365 Rom on 6315

Has anyone tried to update the 6315 with the 6365 rom?

Just curious to know if it fixes the phone issues and GPRS connectivity issues with the 6315?

I download Set IV from http://www.lvlolvlo.net/PDA/ROMUpdate.htm
and successfully upgrade to 1.11.10, according to the author:
Quote:
Please be advised, after you install this ROM you will have two applications installed on your unit:

First called psShutXP which allows you to shut off, soft reset, hard reset, and turn the backlight off on your device. For more information on this product visit http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/
Second called PhonePlus v3.04 which allows you to dial contacts by their name. Try it to see what I mean. For more information on this product visit http://www.mesoftware.biz/
Today ,I flash it back to 1.10.38, but I find that those two programs still exist,

WHY?

and I find that the icq, yahoo messenger AIM are missing.

1. Where did you get the 1.10.38 ROM from?

2. Those two applications are NOT in the ROM, they are in the extended ROM.

3. The extended ROM is a file in the update called "iPAQROM.nbf"

4. ICQ, Yahoo Messenger, and AIM are also pre-loaded in the Extended ROM.

1. From HP official website
2. I didn't find the uninstall option.

3,4,
the ICQ, YAHOO and AIM are in HP official ROM 1.10.38, after flash to 1.11.10 (from http://www.lvlolvlo.net/PDA/ROMUpdate.htm
Set IV), then flash back to 1.10.38, ICQ, YAHOO and AIM are missing.

netsonic......which iPAQ do you have? 6365? 6340? 6325? 6320? 6315? 6310?

since you're going after the 1.10.08, i'm assuming you have the 6315/6310.....

now the reason you're missing the ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo files is because the ROM versions you downloaded do NOT include the extended ROM which has those files in it.

If you want to have those applications (which I don't see why because you can use Agile......yes I have the free one still hosted on my site...http://www.lvlolvlo.net/Files.htm) then you can download it the Set II ROM which will "resurrect" those files.....

And if you would then like to proceed to re-flash the unit again with the ROM from HP you can, as now you will have the original ROM.

Now, I'm pretty sure this will work so go ahead and try....I don't have my iPAQ to test flash on to verify if Set II has the correct extended ROM. But if my memory serves me correct then it is the correct version.

cheers!

*edit* lol...i was editing my post while you were typing your response.....there world is balanced once agian......

Lots of problems even with Rom verison 1.11.10

I still have a lot of call failures (during pickup) and its VERY slow. Not sure what to do, I had version 1.08. ROM (original from T-mObile) i upgraded the ROM and it worked great for few days, I do get a lot of email and stuff not sure if thats killing it but I store all that on storage media (512mb).

I wish there was a way to fix all the issues with it, sometimes I am so frustrated I am afraid i may break it.

Its worth a lot of $$$ now that I got it unlocked from T-mobile. Any suggestions or advise on fixing the call issues and speed?

Should I go back to version 1.10.08 or keep 1.11?

I have a 6315 which I got unlocked a few months back, I have a question, if I upgrade my ROM, would I need to get another unlock code from T-mobile after that? In other words, does upgrading effect the unlocking of the hp iPAQ 6315???
