Few questions. I bravely updated 2 H6315 to the hacked ROM update and later to the latest official update.

Could somebody give me a reason why I should not, or on the other hand must update to this hacked 6365 ROM?

It sais it will become a 6365. Does that mean I loose the Camera drivers and software? I know it is a POS cam with it's mindblowing 0.3Mp, but I use it for mu work sometimes when I left my real digicam at home.

And am I correct when I say, I will not have anything from T-mobile back! I'm in the Netherlands/Europe and don't have T-mobile SIMs.

Thanks in advance.

I am using the HP IPAQ 6315, I had used patch 1.11 and it worked well for few days but still had issues so i went back to official 1.08 one and man that sux I had problem immediately. I then tried the 6365 patch and I am so happy, its very fast in responding, so I don't get AIM or Yahoo but who cares I can download the application and run it on GRPS. I say USE THE 6365 patch it work and I am happy so far ( 24 hours and counting). Applied lvlolvlo.net patch Set #5 (V) http://www.lvlolvlo.net/PDA/Set%20V%20Instructions.htm

Arrow Patch

I ditched the T-Mobile ROM a few months ago in favor of the h6365 and have had virtually NO more bluetooth or system crash problems since doing so. Everything still works fine... the only thing you won't have is T-Mobile's software (their email or the phone entry on the home page). I don't use their email since I have a Small Business Server and I use PocketBreeze so I don't miss any of those things from the home page either.

I still think it's a crappy Processor and don't like that there isn't a native landscape view... which is much better for Internet browsing.

But the ROM upgrade made it livable for now.

Talking 6365 ROM Rocks

I too upgraded to the 6365 rom and was able to get my pop3 emails so it wasn't a big deal.

IT WORKED very well.

I upgraded to the 1.11 (Set V) as well, and I can't get my POP3 for some reason. Before when I went to accounts my POP3 account was listed there, now it's not. Now I can set up some POP3 account thing under SMS account, but it never gets anything.

I'm going to go to the TMobile version and see if that works.

After flashing your unit you get only ActiveSync and SMS accounts in your Inbox. The POP3 account has to be added. Go to Accounts-New account and setup your POP3 account.

Yes - unlocked phones remain unlocked. The ROM upgrade does not change the lock/unlock status.

I NEED HELP WITH THE IPAQ 6315`s ROM UPGRADE

I read carefully your post...
I got the http://www.lvlolvlo.net/PDA/ROMUpdate.htm and then choose the ROM 1.11 ( opction V, without the T-Mobile stuff ).

My IPAQ 6315 has the v 1.10.08.
The Activesync version is 4.2 ( newest )

All was doing fine but when I executed the "hpRUU" a got a " Incorrect device SKU! Update cannot continue".

What I did wrong ??

WiFi

Just upgraded to Set V from lvlolvlo site. Awesome.... I have a couple questions though...I can't connect to my secured wireless. I matched the settings between my 6315 and router settings, but it still didn't work. Can anybody help me?

Also, is there a way to keep the batery gauge displayed?

thanks a bunch in advanced.

For the battery try some specific software that reports battery status like SPB Pocket Plus or other Freeware. Look here: http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php
WR-Tools ResInfo - v1.45 is one is one of my favorite Freewares: http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=923
It puts an icon on the bottom, not the top bar which I think is more useful.
Regarding WiFi: Your router should be in DHCP mode and then make sure your iPAQ Wireless Lan Card is set to all automatic IP and DNS assignments by the router. Check that your router's security is removed and try to connect. Once you connect add WEP security to both the router and your iPAQ. My router also has MAC address security. It simply does not allow any other Lan cards to connect except mine according to their MAC addresses.

Bary, thanks for the info. I downloaded the WR-Tools ResInfo - v1.45, it works.
For Wi-Fi, my router is in DHCP mode and I use iPAQ WLAN Wireless adaptar that is set to all automatic IP and DNS assignments by the router. It still didn't work. It got connected only when I remove the security in my router. But when I changed it back to the original settings (WPA-PSK TKIP), I lost connection again.

Help??

since you're going after the 1.10.08, i'm assuming you have the 6315/6310.....

now the reason you're missing the ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo files is because the ROM versions you downloaded do NOT include the extended ROM which has those files in it.

If you want to have those applications (which I don't see why because you can use Agile......yes I have the free one still hosted on my site...http://www.lvlolvlo.net/Files.htm) then you can download it the Set II ROM which will "resurrect" those files.....

And if you would then like to proceed to re-flash the unit again with the ROM from HP you can, as now you will have the original ROM.

Now, I'm pretty sure this will work so go ahead and try....I don't have my iPAQ to test flash on to verify if Set II has the correct extended ROM. But if my memory serves me correct then it is the correct version.

cheers!

*edit* lol...i was editing my post while you were typing your response.....there world is balanced once agian......

------------------------------------------------------------

I have installed the IV edition of iPAQ 6315. Since then it lots the messenger services and got some unregistered software (phone), which will get out dated in 15 days.

My questions are
1. I want the messenger (Yahoo, AOL and ICQ) to be enabled
2. I want to install Skype and Google Talk along with Yahoo, AOL and others
3. How to get rid of unregistered softward that are installed along with ROM
4. Can I have the missing application enabled in 1.11 version of iPAQ?

I tried to access the link mentioned above, http://www.lvlolvlo.net/Files.htm. Not a correct link.

Need an urgent Help from you.

welll i tried everything, but nothing worked for me, when i try to push mail n contacts and soft reset i successfully get into bt mode but if i click on hruu.exe it gives me error, i think its obvious since i had to take it out of cradle and then put it back in cradle after getin into bt mode. when i click directly on hruu.exe, without pressing those 3 buttons as, as described on official HP website, on official patches it all goes fine, it recognises ma pda and gives me available update list and when i choose them and proceed it shuts activesync and takes to BT mode and starts but then again i get error 608 saying ruuclientdriver.dll couldnt initialize device.this may not be correct dll for this ipaq Pocket PC and this nfl file. after talkin to HP for 4 painful hours on this issue they said they would replace if i can show them receipt that says it was baught within a year and i dont have it on me, any help please? can anybody solve and give me the solution to what is happening to my phone? or if someone would really like to help, can send me a scanned copy of receipt? i will take care of the parts like serial no. and stuff if they really show up on receipt and needs to be takes care of as well name and date and everything with editor software, help me pleaseeeeeee.
