If this really fixes the sleep issue, can someone PLEASE do a step be step for those less technically inclined? Or is it something too complex for a native (which I understand...)

Thanks!

See the FAQ I reference in the first post in this thread. Don't use the patches in that FAQ. Use the patches from the first post in this thread.

This only addresses bluetooth issues (including sleep) for most headsets. It does not fix he suble issue of the GSM Radio sometimes delayed wake up for some people with this phone.

Copied from the first post in this thead for convenience.

Dear mswlogo,
I am quite interested to try the patch as I have been suffering much on the bluetooth headset. However let me verify something:

1. It is all software RAM based install, so it would not overwrite anything in ROM
2. Is it language specific? I am using a traditional chinese version of h6365.

Thanks again for your help.

Yes, it's RAM based. I don't know the implications of the languages.

Its language specific, the interface become english after I have installed, and the position all messed up (I know there is a trick I might be able to fix the interface, but that could leads to other problem...)
But afterall its still usable, just things looks a bit ugly. I will see how it goes for my BT headset.

I have installed 3500 version.

^^ that's been the best one on my 6315 so far. HIGHLY reccomended. works very well with my jabra 250 (though it still shows up as a 200 for some reason).

here's the thread:

Thumbs up

thanks mswlogo
I have instaled 3500 on my 6340 yesterday without previos hardreset (I have a lot of various progs instaled on 512mb sd as well in phone memory).
I just did a softreset, installed the patch and then softreset once again. It works just fine for now with my moto 810 headset.
It works in any situation without problems, and I am actually using the headset again.
HP should pay you for solving their problem while they are obviously asleep.
Thumbs up

I suspect HP (and BroadComm) is testing and figuring out how to smoothly deploy it. These patches do not fix all problems for everyone and too many patches is expensive for large companies to support. I suspect they will eventually come through. And hopefully with a ROM so you don't have to waste memory.

I think afterall it fixes quite a bit of problem, on very rare occassion my headset seems doesn't sounds loud enough on the other side, but afterall it is far more stable. I hope HP would come up with a good quality fix eventually, but now I am at least survived, thanks mswlogo!

U might wish to try this. I found that it more stable. In fact it seems to resolve somewhat the headset out of range problem. with the PDA When both was within range of each other, the headset icon will not appear but when the phone rang, it tries to reconnect. After about 8-10 seconds it is successful. I must say it not be 100%. still testing.

What you need to do is go to ipaq wireless -> settings -> under tthe services tab, select handsfree. Remove all the ticks and only leave the enable service tcked. I am using a Logitech Freedom headset.

I forgot to mention. So far it works and the ipaq is in standby mode when not in use. (not screen off). Tomorrow is a work day. Let us see whether I faced any problems.

I installed the 3500 BT patch without issue. I don't have my BT headset with me (cause it never really worked well), so I will test later.

peteding -- does your bluetooth light flash in standby?

I must be stupid ...

Okay ... I've downloaded build 3500 ... I think ... I get a little blue file cabinet ... I am clueless how to copy it to the phone ... do I open it??? copy it??? and how so???

HELP ... I really want the blue tooth to work ... like all of us do ... I'm tired of keeping the processor running and the battery running down ...

Fuzzy

UPDATE: DUH!!! ... I was doing everything correctly ... c'ept ... I didn't do the touch the patch step ... once I did that ... poof ... it ran ... I soft reset ... and voila .. BT works great ... I can let the phone go to sleep and when it wakes up ... it wakes up bt too ... no more leaving the processor running ... the sound is wonderful ... much better than before the patch ... haven't tried it with mp3's yet .... but movies sound better ... and ... I have the Jabra 250 ... I am a much happier camper (I'm always a happy camper ... LOL)
