This is my first attempt at connecting a bluetooth device to the 6315. I went settings-.connections->bluetooth->Bluetooth Manager. I selected new and then next, and the icon for HF800 shows up. When select that icon it tries to "discover" it, and askes for a passkey. Next I get an error message... "An error occurred while attempting service discovery...."
Has anyone got this unit to work with the 6315? Am I doing something wrong?

Pairs fine. Sound is LOUD and clear. Much louder the my 810. It's a little tougher on the ear and a bit heavier, but it is also much more secure.
But still the same old 6315 bt issues.
No-way. I tried two brand new Logitech Mobile Freedom w/ my h6315 and the sound level (even at loudest settings at both the headset & my h6315) is barely enough for quiet indoor environment, and totally unusable in outdoor environment or even inside a restaurant. Moreover, there is static on my side for 100% of the time and my friends also noticed this 'breaking-up' sound of mine on their side. I now removed the foam on the Mobile Freedom & sound level improves a lil', but still too soft. And nope, I don't have hearing problems AFAIK.
So do you still think yours is loud & clear? If yes then I need to conclude that there is a problem w/ my h6315.
I have had great success with the Stowaway Keyboard and the "microsoft" (pharos) gps receiver. I have had not so great luck with headsets; I have returned the moto 810 and 820 and a Belkin. None of them were loud enough, and all caused lockups.
I have recently purchased the Jabra BT250, but this time with a different attitude. I expect some problems, but it is better than tangling with the ipaq earbud wires. So far (after only two days) I have only needed to soft reset once, and the jabra seems to be much louder than my previous units. My 6315 is almost always on (it sits in the cradle on my desk during the work day) and I do not use the jabra at home at night (just during the day and in the car). Could my lack of lockups this time around be because the ipaq never goes into stand-by when I am using the jabra?
At any rate, I expect an HP/T-Mobile patch soon to address the headset issue, so I think I will keep the jabra even if I start to have more problems.
UPDATE: I read in the msmobile forum that another guy using the jabra BT250 (I can't remember his name, but he was a Microsoft MVP) stopped having problems when he deselected the system sounds option and only used his headset with phone calls. I did this yesterday and so far I've had no lockups or dropped connections. It makes voice command a little more difficult to use (can't hear the speaker very well) but it beats soft resetting 10 times a day!

I am trying for the same to Lexus LS-430. Normal handsfree does not work even for Lexus. Did the pairing and all went well in the ipaq but the Lexus still waiting for the connection.
Do not understand the steps further from your post. Greatly appreciate any help.
thanks,
Sri

Enter the normal pairing process and instead of selecting handfree or headset from the ipaq, go to the bluetooth manager and click tools... devices... click add device while in the pairing process on the Acura. It will find the Handfree Link with question mark. Select the acura.. put in your pin... name the phone and then you are set.
This is the trick...
If the phone does not show up on the TL at this point... click the talk key and say... "Next Phone"... it will say no phones have been detected.. and then a phone icon will show up on your display.
The way to make calls is to initiate them on the ipaq and then click the handfree icon in the title bar and then click continue this call using handsfree... The Acura Bluetooth link will think take over the call.
To recieve calls... Answer them on the ipaq, then repeat the steps above. Click the icon and select continue using handsfree.
Not as nice as it could be... but it sure beats not using it at all.
I have a new Acura TL with a Motarola V600; bluetooth works ok; can dial numbers and answer calls with voice prompts.
I am considering the 6315... I don't really understand some of the posts here. Would someone in the know mind restating what you have to do--sounds like its not really hands free locistically.
Can you sync Outlook/e-mail using bluetooth through the Acura TL?

I couldn't see your notes on how to connect the BT200 to the 6315...
What I noticed is that the BT200 will pair with the 6315 only in "normal" mode and not in the enhanced / advanced "handsfree" mode.
Also - I need to re-pair the BT200 after each time I charge it...

Yeah, it doesn't use the handsfree profile... and the repairing after charging thing is typical for PPC phones, but not for "normal" cell phones like my Motorola v600. As soon as I turn it on it immediately pairs with my HS820 headset.
I have switched from the BT200 to the HS820 and am happy I did so. It seems to pair better and work normally with all of my cell phones w/BT (and the quirks with PPC phones being normal, but getting better as BT patches are being released.)
I've paired both a BT200 and BT250 with little difficulty. You are corrrect, the enhanced features cannot be used.
However, my Jabra's stay connected at all times; whether charging, or off the charger. The only thing that requires a "reconnection" is if I leave my desk with my Jabra on and walk out of range of the 6315.
When I get back I goto the iPAQ Wireless window and turn the Bluetooth off and back on. Then I'm reconnected.

Well, I do think it's about time that HP releases an update for the Bluetooth manager s/w on the 6315. After using a 3650, P900 and XDA2, the Bluetooth is where the 6315 lacks in comparisson to the other phones...

The other thing is there are more than one version of the BT200... one works pretty well (the newer model) and the one isn't quite so accomodating.
As far as releasing a BT patch, there is much speculation about HP releasing something in December, but that's all it is - speculation. I have not heard a thing about it from HP.
2. iPhono headset works fine. Hard to set up but once set up is good. As per reviews can't move too far away to get reception and sound qualitry is much better if you use dongle even with a bluetooth unit like 6315.

I have paired the HF800 BT Speaker and HS810. Both paired BUT, the same recurring problem occurs. When the unit goes to sleep mode while BT is left on, it locks up where you can't turn the screen back on. The phone and BT lights are blinking, but the screen won't turn back on. Also, it will lose BT connection after a while of not using it. I have heard a million of these complaints on HOFO and its supposed to be fixed by HP or Tmo at some point. I returned both BT headsets and am waiting patiently.
By the way, this is my third H6315. The first had the worst phone reception I have ever heard. The second still had the bluetooth issues. And now the third, better phone reception, still has the same bluetooth issues and it does weird stuff and locks up regularly.... Sorry if I made this message too long...
Motorola HS810 paired great. You occasionally have to turn off/on Bluetooth to repair it after it comes off the charger. **Problem** incoming calls with my HS810 MUST be answered from the button on the HS810, otherwise, callers can't hear me. Outgoing calls always sound fine. Another poster on another thread here had the same issue.
OK, here is my latest:
I have come to the conclusion that no BT headset will work with my 6315. After some use, the Jabra did not work correctly. I returned it and tried the jabra BT110, and it was even screwier! I am giving up on BT headsets until a rom update is released.
These are the headsets that I have unsuccessfully tried:
Moto 810, 820, Belkin, Jabra 250 (2 of them), Jabra 110.
I am currently using the seidio car mount, and the speakerphone works great except for an occasional buzz in the speaker.

I got the HS820 to work with the H6315 with the patch I just announced in the other thread. Trying to find a home for downloads.
And you are correct. I had 2 headsets (HBH-300 and HS820) and neither would work with H6315 out of the box. With the patch HS820 and another one my friend had works (I forget the name but it was cheap and very small but seemed to work quite well). HBH-300 still did not work. But I think it may be faulty.
