I've just tried the Bluetake BT420 headphones. They work for both phone calls and playing MP3's. The sound comes out both L and R channels, albeit in mono. The one problem is that the buttons (for answering a call and adjusting the volume) don't seem to work.
I'm not really an expert, but I think my Bluespoon Digital is a no-go. It mates, and I get audio through it, but won't answer the phone with the buttons. Bummer.
The Logitech bt headset works fine. I am not using voice command, so I cannot initiate a call from the headset. But I could end a call and the volume seemed good. I found it quite comfortable as it clips to the side of your ear so it doesn't interfere with glasses.
1) I have had good success with the Think Outside Bluetooth Keyboard. I read a rumor that the driver was updated from the current 3.11 to 4.0. I wrote to Think Outside and they sent me this link:
I installed and it worked well. The connection is now easier and faster. The interface is slightly more polished. But, as the name of the driver implies, it adds MOUSE support, as well. Freaky! The mouse should be out around Christmas. It does not work with other Bluetooth mice. I bought a mini-Targus today to test it and the 6315 did not recognize the stack, i.e. it did not work. Propietary drivers, anyone? I have seen video of the Think Outside mouse working on another site but the link is down.
2) I have the Fellowes Body Glove Bluetooth headset and it works very well, including with Microsoft Voice Command.

Sorry, too little info ... headset works fine, phone number also appears ... just the buttons don't work. But if you press call button long enuff, it switches to voice command mode, (activates mic) but, sadly doesn't activate voice dialing .. have to press hot key ...
Originally posted by Convergent I just got the Plantronics M3000 and the Motorola this week, and will give them a try after I figure out my Bluetooth problem.
Did you ever get to test these out? I have the jabra 250 and am not happy with it at all and am looking at the Motorola HS820 if I hear that it's working well.
I just spoke with one of the PDA engineers at T-Mobile, and he in turn spoke with one of the "senior" engineers about the BT headset connectivity issue we have been experiencing.
He said that T-Mobile and HP now acknowledges the issue, and are working to issue a patch to correct it. THere is no ETA, but they are acknowledging it, and that, IMHO, is a good start.
I look forward to using my BT headset with complete connectivity soon! Take care...
I've narrowed down my Bluetooth problem to the fact that if I have any (and I've tried 3 different manufacturer's headsets) Bluetooth headset paired and active, then I get intermittent lock-ups. I actually have a program that will cause it to lock up pretty quickly in this scenario. If I have any other Bluetooth device active (i.e., a GPS), I don't have any lockups. So, something about a Bluetooth headset seems to hang the device up. I've also tried this on two different h6315s. I'm glad they acknowledge a problem in this area, and I'm hopeful the fix will take care of the lockups as well.
Convergent,
You said you have three headsets currently? I'm about ready to pick one up this weekend but I'm still having difficulty with the decision. Any recommendations?

Amber. I'm finally converged, and lovin' it!
I have a funny shaped ear... don't laugh... so I am more concened with feel than anything else. I really like the Sony Ericsson HBH-35. But, that one is being phased out. I definitely do not like the Jabra FreeSpeak 250, because I don't like the way it fits on my ear. I am using one of the Motorolas now, and it is pretty nice too... very small... but a bit harder to get on my ear.
I have a 6315 (tmobile logo at bottom of unit) with a belkin BT headset
after a hard reset the problems with disconections were more infrequent HOWEVER, when i talk to someone they cant hear me very well and i have to yell to be heard. they say i sound far away. is there any way to boost to microsophone signal so i appear louder to other people i talk to? i end up having to disable the headset and talk on the brick and people say they can hear me better.
also has anyone discovered which voice software allows you to answer the phone with your voice? i heard voice dial and ms voice command do not do that.

Parrot 3100 works, although the pairing process is really wierd. You have to tell the Parrot unit that it's going to look for a Windows CE device, and just tell the 6315 to pair with this "unknown" device. It does connnect and work, then shows up as an 'audio gateway' in the bluetooth manager. However, you cannot browse the Parrot for services from the 6315.
The bluespoon analog does not work so well. I read that someone coudln't get the bluespoon digital working at all, but I can get the bluespoon analog to work half the time. It will be connected, but when a call is ongoing, it just won't transfer sound to the headset. I try hitting the button on the headset to get it to transfer wound, and just doesn't work.
All bluetooth devices with the 6315 seem to have this problem sometimes, though... my parrot sometimes won't connect to the damn thing either, and you just have to reset the 6315 to get it to work.
I should just be able to be in range of a bluetooth device, and when a call comes in, it rings on that device. In the case of being in range of 2 devices (parrot and bluespoon) one of them is selected as primary, and it should ring thru on that device.
Bluetooth Motorola 810 Headset not reliable & Voice Command not working w/Bluetooth
1) There is some weird lockup that come when I close the boom on my motorola and reopen it (to save batteries). Sometimes (about 40% of the time) it repairs and all is well. About 30% of the time, it locks up. And the rest of the time it just doesn't work--it uses internal speakers/mic on the iPAQ.
2) If I boot up the iPaq and use it for a while, then try to pair the headset later, sometimes (about 60% of the time) it will work. And even then, about half the time afterwards it will lock up in some wierd way hours later.
3) The ONLY way that I've been able to reliably use the headset is to
a) Reboot iPAQ
b) Immediately turn on my headset (open the boom).
c) Play something in Windows Media. I hear the noise. Sometimes (about 20% of the time, I have to reboot here to get past this point--repeating steps a&b).
d) Stop playing music.
e) Close Windows Media.
Now it works, as long as I don't close the boom on my Motorola BT810.
4) I've noticed that if I take a call with the buttons on the iPAQ--end users cannot hear me. When I answer with the button on the headset--they hear me OK. No explanation as to why in the headset manual, but I suspect that the gain on the microphone is different with the bluetooth headset.
5) Voice Command: I think that Microsoft's Voice Command fails because the gain on the bluetooth headset is different from the internal microphone when being used. IF SO IT SHOULD BE EASY TO PATCH--JUST REGAIN THE MIC WHEN VOICE COMMAND IS LAUNCH. YOU COULD WRITE A SHIM APP THAT INSTALLS BETWEEN VOICE COMMAND AND THE LAUNCHER PROGRAM THAT IS TIED TO THE BUTTON THAT TWEAKS ON THE VOLUME, THEN TURNS IT DOWN AFTER 20 SECONDS--OR WHEN THE SPAWNED LAUNCHER IS DONE RUNNING, ETC.
