Because the unit is so new and different, most programs haven't been tested on it. I think we'll see most of the software problems (at least from bigger developers) start to disappear as time goes on and the 6315 grows in popularity.

I noticed that alot of you are placing a lot of third party apps on your 6315. I placed MS voice command and spb pocket plus and it dropped my internal mem to below 10 mb. I then puts tweaks2net or something like that and it brought it down more.
Are you all putting the apps on the storage card? Does it slow it down alot more or is it fairly quick?>
Also, I saw a message where someone said they put Netfront Java on the h6315. Is it still running well with no probs and did you install it on your storage card or in main mem?
Thanks...

I probably have most of my apps on my SD card. I got a high speed Lexar card so the access time is acceptable. I have about 6 apps installed on the iPaq File Storage area in RAM and I have maybe 4 apps actually installed in the main memory area.
Everything works pretty well that way. I base my decisions on where to put something on:
1) how big is it?
2) does the app require data files that get updated a lot?
3) do I need this app running all the time (e.g. cannot go away if I switch SD cards)?
If is is a large app or falls within #2, then it goes on the SD card. If it falls within #3 and is not very large I put it into RAM otherwise it goes on the iPaq File Storage area.

Power Buttons malfunction

I (and have read a few others) have a problem with the Pro version, the Power buttons override the system defaults, my camera button switches to camera but does not take a photo! Record button switches on camera! Inbox button does not work.
Any attempts to change them in Power button settings fails. Also Power button settings does not show MS Voice command which means cannot be activated by a button press.

For Those of you with Journal Bar and Battery Pack Pro
I am having all kinds of memory problems since I purchased these and put them on. I have had to remove them. I installed them on the main memory - as it stated they would not function unless installed in the default directory. Here is what I am running:
hp SoftPAQ
Rampart Games Rampart Trivia Pack - on Storage Card
Microsoft Voice Command
Symantec AntiVirus
Symantec LiveUpdate
Strickland Consulting PocketCandy
Microsoft Activiation
It seems like you guys and gals are running more than this - what do I need to do to manage my memory better?
Thank you

Try getting a utility to clean off old temp files, IE cache, dead registry keys, dead shortcuts, dead appmanager files, etc.
I use space reclaimer from valksoft.com.
You'll be amazed how much junk you can accumulate.

Wow, you're the first person I've seen with an AntiVirus prog for their PPC. Most people I know won't even bother. lol Kudos for you sir!
Question for you is what is the Microsoft Activation??
Also, several programs require them to be installed onto the Main Memory and I experiment. I Install them onto the iPAQ File Store and see if they operate accordingly. For example, I use Belkin Navigation System and it says it need to be installed to the Main Memory so what did I do? First I installed it to the Storage Card (1GB) and quickly learned that doing that had no problem but I wouldn't hear the Navigation prompts (i.e. Left Turn, Right Turn, Slow Down, etc..) After learning this I then moved it closer to the Main Memory..meaning I installed it onto iPAQ File Store. After doing this I didn't notice any problems what so ever. Everything worked flawlessly so I was like YAY! RAM SAVED!
Well I hope that helps.

Experimenting with Memory
Thanks to the good suggestions, I re-flashed, experimented with locations of programs. After a few glitches - I have everything working correctly including battery pack pro, journal bar and mars weatherpanel. Thanks to All! This forum rocks -
By the way - Microsoft Activation is the activation for my Microsoft Reader....

I have had this issue to and submitted a support ticket to fix this under the clsoe button option in the spb config go to exceptions and add
inboxdriver.exe
poutlook.exe
tmail.exe
This has solved my lockup issues using spb pocket plus and the inbox.

HTTP Mail Provider 1.0 After the unOfficial ROM update it locks my device and also locks the ActiveSync app. I just can't believe there is no software out there that would allow me to use pocket outlook (a MS product) to downloade my hotmail (another MS product)! But looks like I'll have to get over it.

I can not get the fix to install...get an internal error message on the PC when installing. Is there a .cab file?
