Regarding Voice Command: It was nailed in this thread exactly.
The Audio device on the 6340 takes approximately 500ms to open once it has been instructed to do so. This means that there is a period of about 1 half second after the microphone icon appears on the screen before you can issue a command with good recognition.
We have found ways to mask the delay problem so when you see the microphone appear, you will be able to speak and get good recognition. This also means that you will be able to respond to questions more quickly as well. This fix will be going in to the 1.5 release that should be released later this year.
I can't seem to find any remote controller software that works with the TI processor. Apps like VITO Remote and Total Remote both fail. And actually, Total Remote crashes the whole device.
Originally posted by racedog I'm running version 2.1 and its causing lockups on my 6315. I tried doing a hard reset and then adding in third party apps one by one until I found the problem and it was SPB PocketPlus and the scenario was repeatable. I left it on anyone because I love pocketplus and can't find anything to replace the handy today screen icons (selected by me).

Ive been runniing Pocket Plus 2.1 for 2 weeks on my h6315 without problem.
DinarSoft HandySwitcher is working with no issues on my device. I like that you can move the program icon to the bottom tool bar, keeping the top unclutterd. You can review it here.

Ascii stupid question, get a stupid Ansi.
SPB Pocket Plus has a definite problem on the HP 6315. It causes the unit to be very slow and it locks up the system frequently. One of the main problems seems to come when pocket plus closes all the apps when you exit a program. Most of this happens when you exit the inbox. Also when I proformed a backup of the unit with SPB Pocket Plus installed it locked up the system just before the backup was complete and it did a hard reset wiping out all my data and programs I had to reinstall everything because the backup file was incomplete.
Battery Pack 204 works just fine and is a very good program with most of the features that SPB Pocket Plus has. Pocket 10B Plus Business Calculator works fine. FlexWallet works great. Pocket Streets works fine and Microsoft Voice commander works great.
What's a good setting for the Microphone when using MS Voice Command? I've tried a few settings and it gives me some errors.
When I use the included headset it really has a hard time understanding me. I recorded myself using the headset and with out it sounds much better. I'm going to buy a Bluetooth headset soon, maybe that'll solve the issue.
Anyways, let me know if you guys found a good setting for the Mic.

Looks like it must be the Pocket Plus "Close" option. I never liked it anyway (I use True Toolbar) and Ive never had any problems that I can point toward Pocket Plus.
The 6315 has a slow audio device. When it is instructed to start sampling audio, it takes one half of a second before it will start sending data. In Voice Command, wait for one half of a second after seeing the microphone icon before issuing a command. This should improve recognition. Voice Command V1.5 will not have this delay problem.
I was unable to access many secure webpages that required username and password due to lack of java support in the Internet Explorer on the 6315. I finally purchased NetFront JV-lite2 and it works great. Spb Pocket Plus v2.1 and journal bar help round out the system. I found that if there are sync problems I can turn off the phone and do a soft reset before putting the unit in the cradle.

I have not tried the headset that comes with the phone.
Microsoft Voice Command is working pretty well with the build in microphone and with my Jabra BT250 Bluetooth headset. I have the microphone set to Automatic gain control to "Disable" and microphone gain to "4". I have just over 1700 contacts and it finds them well. It has some trouble sometimes with the dial or call command but some of this I think is a conflict it is having with other programs I have loaded such as Battery Pack 2004.
I had a lot of problems with spb pocket plus and I am having some problems with battery pack 2004 but not nearly as many as with spb pocket plus.
Originally posted by Convergent I've had problems with Mapopolis specifically causing the Start menu area to go dead so that you only see about half the screen.
I'm having other intermittent lockups, but not pinned it down to one app.
I use Mapopolis (4.x) and have no screen issues. That's one of things that makes finding issues so tough. We all have different third party applications on our machines and they affect both the machine itself AND how those third party application interact with each other and therefore also affect the machine.
Originally posted by EvilHomer I have OmegaOne Battery 2004. Has anyone run into any issues or lockup using this program?
I have loaded it and it is working pretty well. I am having to reboot a couple of times a day but I am not sure if Battery pack 2004 is the issue or not. I am doing more testing and will post my results when I have them.
